Our Hip Sidekick, Stefanie spotted these at her Dollar Tree when she heard that this tub may have irregular Cascade Pods inside! 😱
She tested them out and her dishes came out perfectly. 👇
A Cascade Platinum Plus Dishwasher Pod 21-Pack is going for $9.94 on Amazon making them 47¢ each. The packs in the Dollar Tree tub are only 3¢ each. They look very similar to Cascade, but are they? You be the judge!

Of course they aren’t. Like all soap , most soaps clean. I opened up several of these Dollar tree containers. They have no seals on them. You unscrew lid and can see the product. The ones I observed , had several different ones in the container. They looked old and dried out and clearly no first run product. None of them looked like the name brand. Like most of these viral Tim told ,the excitement is faked and nothing but bait click.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and observations, Lillianna! 💕 Good to know about the package you purchased and how it compared to brand-name alternatives. Bummer there didn’t seem to be a seal of any sort under the lid to protect the product.
Thanks for your comment! Just to clear things up—Stef from our team spotted these herself at her Dollar Tree, and trust us, we’re not about the clickbait life. Maybe stock varies by location, but what you see in the video is exactly what she found. Being transparent and honest is so important to me and our team —it’s what we strive for every day at Hip2Save.
I honestly feel like some of the dollar stores for products are not bad like they have a rug cleaner that actually cleans your rug. I have dogs and they leave messes all the time and gets the stain right out. So I’m totally willing to try some cheap dish soap save some money. Sometimes people see price tags of cheap product and think instantly that it’s crap. It’s not always true. We need to stop labeling things with value of based on money. Just because a purse cost $100 doesn’t mean it’s worth $100. It’s probably just as good as the $20 one you buy at target. sorry if there’s misspellings saying will not let me go up and read what I wrote.
I feel like you are blaming an app for people trying to find an alternative.
I saw many people open them, as did I myself, they looked the exact same.
I know a lot of people are mad that things sell out quicker bc they are “viral” so they try and steer people away. Everyone deserves a deal! And I personally can say, this is a good one!
I tried them last week for the first time and they cleaned the same as Cascade which I also use.
SO awesome! Thanks for sharing your feedback after giving them a try, Susan. Great to know they seem to compare to the cleaning power of Cascade! 🧼
I appreciate the information on the good deals! Personally, I stay away from pods as they do not break down completely and release microplastics into the water supply. It is one small thing I can do for our environment.
Spot on! I use Wally World’s gel because I can customize the amount if I want to do a small or light load.
Kim, I LOVE that! I will do the same once mine run out. Thanks!
You are awesome!
