Kids can call, text, and use an SOS feature while parents monitor and control access via the MyGabb app.

Parents can use the app to remotely mute, lock, set safe zones, and receive alerts. Plus, Gabb Cloud backups protect device data if lost or broken.

A Gabb phone and Gabb watch for kids

Our readers give Gabb rave reviews…

We have had Gabb Wireless for the past year and it has great coverage/service in our area. It is actually Verizon towers. The phone is basic and fine and internet/data free — just talk and text — if you want to keep it simple for kiddos or the elderly. I do actually recommend and customer service has been great! – Hip reader, Kelly A.

We’ve used the Gabb phone for over a year and it’s been great. No problems with the phone. We use the No Contract plan, so we could switch to a different service anytime if we needed to. It’s been great having teens that are not on social media! – Hip reader, Alli Sand

The Gabb Phone has filled a void in the cellphone industry that desperately needed filling. Kids today have a need to be connected, but big tech industries have failed children and their families by not providing legitimately safe options! Thank you for finally giving parents a good option! It allows my child to feel connected in a safe way.

I LOVE Gabb. I had their original watch since 2021. I got it for my 5 year old at the time because we were going to Disney Land. I wanted a way to get ahold of him and track him just in case, heaven for bid, he wandered off as kids do. The one complaint I had about the watch was that it was too easy to call. When I say too easy, I mean you could accidentally touch the screen and call. So when I was holding his hand, if the watch brushed my hand, it called my mom since she was one of the top contacts.
I upgraded his watch to the Gabb Watch 3 earlier this year, and that issue is solved! No accidental calling. YAY!
Both the old watch and the new are incredibly durable and have made it through all the shenanigans my son puts it through.

We are definitely a Gabb family and when my daughter gets old enough, she’ll have the Gabb watch! I’ve loved the peace of mind the watch has brought me, knowing my son can get ahold of me if needed and I can see where he is, without giving him internet and social media access.

Thank you so much for sharing your positive experience with Gabb, Dayna! ❤️ Super happy to hear how much you love the watches and how they’ve provided peace of mind, especially during your Disneyland trip with your son. Glad to know that the accidental calling issue you had with the original watch has been resolved with the Gabb Watch 3, and that both watches have stood up to your son’s adventures! We love that you’ll be continuing with Gabb for your daughter too. 🎉

We are a Gabb family as well. My 7, 10, and 13 year old share one phone. If they are spending the night with someone or going somewhere without us, the take the phone. This way they can get ahold of us but we don’t have to worry about the downsides of having unlimited access to internet. My only con for the phone is it does not have wi-fi calling and texting. We live in a rural area without cell phone service so the phone does not work at our home.

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks a bunch for sharing your experience, Julie! Love hearing how well the Gabb phone works for your family and keeps your kids connected, as needed! Appreciate the heads up on the Wi-Fi calling and texting. Hoping Gabb considers adding that feature in the future to make it even more convenient for families like yours! 💞

  3. Mary

Am I missing something? The phone or watch is free? How? I don’t see the $150 credit.

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Hey there, Mary! You might click back through the links in the post – as I’m still seeing the discount auto-applied to the phone and watch options as mentioned. Hoping it’s working for you now as well! 🤞

I bought this the last time it was posted. We had a bad experience with gabb. First of all they start charging you immediately. Even before the phone arrives. We had poor signal. We couldn’t get texts to go through. Picture texts are an extra fee…pretty much everything is an extra fee. We kept it for three months and cancelled. Then had to mail the device back (even though it was supposed to be a free device) not that I cared to keep it but not being told up front that it had to be returned then having to run it to the post office was inconvenient. Anyway, purchase at your own risk.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh bummer! Very sorry to hear this, Beth. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with Gabb.❤️

    • Ashley

We had a terrible experience with them as well. I have Verizon and I get service in my house, but even though Gabb works over Verizon, my kids couldn’t get any service – no calls or texts. Gabb refused to refund my activation fee to begin with, finally agreed to and then billed me again instead of refunding. Total nightmare from trying to get it set up, sending devices back and getting my money back.

      • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Darn! So sorry about that frustration, Ashley. Thanks for the honest review. ❤️

Another vote for Gabb. I wish it didn’t have to be tied to their network, because I’d want one for myself.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for the recommendation, Jc! ❤️ Good to know you’ve been so pleased with Gabb!

  6. Julie

Sadly, we had kind of a bad experience, too. We got the watch. They started charging the monthly fee immediately (even weeks before we got the watch) I found that we weren’t using it as much as we thought we would. She’s 8, and it wasn’t allowed at school, etc.. I asked if I could pause, they said I could cancel service and when I did, I was charged $100 cancellation fee -which I’m sure was in the fine print but I missed. Bought in July, cancelled in June so already paid $75 in monthly fees. The other thing I was surprised that as they did not try to retain my business, it was just cancel
    Option.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks so much for letting us know your thoughts on how the service worked for your family, Julie.❤️ We sure appreciate the feedback. So sorry it didn’t work out.

  7. Brady

I’m a Gabb user! I have 3 Gabb watches for my boys! They are perfect for helping us keep track of our kids, letting them go around the neighborhood to different friend’s houses. We have given watches to our kids from about the age of 6-11. Probably won’t switch to a Gabb Phone until our oldest is 12 (Middle School). We had the Gabb Watch 2, and now have the Gabb Watch 3e, which has had a lot of improvements.

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

That’s awesome to hear, Brady! 🤗 Sounds like those Gabb watches have been a perfect solution for keeping your kiddos safe and connected while giving them some independence – such a win-win! 🥰 Love that you’ve been able to enjoy the improvements with the Gabb Watch 3e too. Thanks a bunch for sharing your experience, and wishing your family continued smooth sailing with these handy devices! 💕⌚

  8. Ray

I was planning on getting my son an iphone when he goes into middle school because he’ll need some apps, but he can get around parental control settings so easily so I wasn’t sure what to do. But now gabb phones have apps! Just some of the basic ones like maps and a filtered music app. But I’m going to put that off as long as possible though lol

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Sounds like you’ve put a lot of thought into this, Ray – so smart to weigh all the options! 🤗 The Gabb Phone definitely seems like a great middle ground with its basic apps and built-in safety features, especially if parental controls are a concern. Hoping it works out perfectly whenever you decide to make the switch! 😊📱

  9. Susie Hall

My 10th grade daughter loves this phone and so do we! We originally looked at buying the iPhone but were told how complicated the parental controls were (my friend said it felt like a full time job staying on top of it). My friend also said her daughter begs for social media on her iPhone all the time – and on Gabb they can’t even have social media! It’s not even an option! My daughter and I have had good conversations of the dangers of social media so she is onboard too. That has been critical.

I found this Gabb phone and my daughter and I have loved it. Set up was super easy and I’m very impressed with the monitoring I get. This phone has apps that only parents can enable and my daughter has the apps she needs for school, for her bank account, and a few other apps she was excited about. She said to me yesterday “I have everything I need dad!”. She also LOVES Gabb music plus. She can listen to all her favorite songs and I don’t have to worry about what she is listening to – without it being a full time job monitoring it! Game changer!

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks so much for sharing your experience, Susie! 🤗 Sounds like the Gabb phone has been a total game changer for your family, providing the perfect balance of freedom and safety for your daughter. 💕 Love to hear the phone is meeting all her needs, plus some fun extras like Gabb Music! 🎶

  10. Ashley

I’ve been with Gabb for 2 years, it’s worked great for my family. We’ve had the watches and upgraded my teenager to the phone. There was an update a few months ago that made the watch battery life last much longer. It’s great to get the safe zone alerts while I’m working to see when they get home from school.

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks so much for letting us know how Gabb is working for your family over the past 2 years, Ashley! 🙌Great to know the updates have improved the watch battery life, and those safe zone alerts sound like such a helpful feature for peace of mind. 📱⌚💖

  11. Dani

I have had Gabb watches for my kids for several years now and it has been so awesome. I love the safe zones and alerts I get if they go outside the zones. It has been so nice to be able to call them to let them know if I’m running late to pick them up, or to text them if they are at a friends house to let them know it’s time to come home for dinner. It just gives me so much peace of mind. We recently upgraded my daughter to the Gabb Phone 4 Pro, and she loves it! It has a killer camera, and allows several third party apps that she can use, without the worry of a web browser or social media apps.
