If you’ve been interested in a Costco membership, now is the time to sign up! In an article posted on July 10th, Costco confirmed that its membership fees will increase effective September 1, 2024 – this is the first price hike since 2017.
The annual membership fees will increase by $5 for United States and Canada Gold Star members making the annual fee $65. Also effective September 1, annual fees for Executive Memberships will increase from $120 to $130 and the maximum annual 2% Reward associated with the Executive Membership will increase from $1,000 to $1,250.
A Costco Gold Star membership costs just $60 for a whole year. Plus, you’ll get one additional membership card for a household member who is over the age of 16 and living at the same address.
With an Executive Membership for $120, you’ll get 2% cash back on ALL qualified Costco purchases!

When we got it, they said it was a $50 shopping card for the membership. Then Another $50 card for Veterans. So 2 cards. We are still waiting for them though because it takes 4-6 weeks to receive.😬
I have the executive membership for many years now. With this membership you get 2% cash back on every purchase. The check comes with the annual membership renewal fee. I use the check every year and pay the membership fee. I have never paid the membership fee out of pocket. As long as you spend roughly about $300 a month at Costco the membership fee will be free if you use your cash back check to pay for the membership.

Same for me–one hour away from our closest store. We do have a local Sam’s so I probably would not buy this except there is one in my daughter’s college town so I am getting it for her, and I figure I can use the 2nd membership card occasionally!
