This Free People option is made of 80% cotton and 20% polyester. If you’re looking to splurge, this option is for you. However, Kohl’s version is made of solely polyester and is super thick. It feels like a heavy-quality jacket, and I actually prefer its plaid patterns and colors at Kohl’s over the options at Free People.
At this price point, you can buy four Kohl’s jackets compared to one Free People shacket! 🤯
Although they aren’t an exact match, both options have those same two pockets on the top front. They also seem to be around the same length. If you love the shirt-jacket aesthetic but not enough to spend hundreds, this Kohl’s option is 100% worth it! I loved pairing my cream-blue color with jeans, and I received tons of compliments!
It is also true to size. I am comfortably wearing a medium, and, as a tall lady, I always worry about the length of jackets. The sleeves were perfect! It is a very warm jacket while also being extremely light. If the weather is even remotely warm, you’ll want to save this shacket in your closet for a chilly day.

There are nine colors to choose from. Lina has the Blush Multi color while Sara has the Tan Multi option. The material is the same polyester the long shacket has, and its length is 31 inches. It’s perfect for bundling up or layering a style. You can easily dress it up or down; it literally pairs with everything in your closet!

“These shackets are super cozy! I love the oversized look and ordered my regular size (XS). I really love how soft the insides of the pockets are, too. I’ve already worn it to my boys’ football games and was very comfy and plan to wear it hiking tons with black leggings, a crop top, boots, and a beanie. One note…if your arms are on the longer side, just be aware the sleeves may be on the shorter side. My arms tend to be too small for most tops like this, so I personally appreciate the fit. Also, be sure to wash and dry first as mine shed quite a bit on my black leggings. On the plus side, it washes great!” – Sara

These jackets are naturally oversized; if you’re someone who normally prefers bigger clothing, I’d suggest ordering your normal size or even sizing down. We each had slightly different experiences with the fits, but, in the end, we each found the perfect option!
