When we opened this set, the kids were immediately captivated by the animals and the boys especially loved the scorpion. We built this as a group with 5 & 6-year-olds, with me supervising and helping as needed and I found that, though the box says 7+, most of the kids were able to follow the directions easily. I think it’s more about the level of patience and/or experience for the kids when building, rather than age.

It’s great that the building starts with the small stand-alone parts, the jeep, and the little island with the tree because it gives them something to play with right away. They had fun driving the little jeep around and all absolutely loved the fun scorpion hideaway sneak attack! The building is probably best for built-in sessions, especially with a younger child but when it’s done, there are so many fun little details and accessories! The kids were delighted with the whole bag of tiny doctor tools and the little microscope and x-ray machine. This is a great set for animal lovers!
