The Melissa and Doug play money set gets rave reviews…
So many other sets are not realistic and when trying to teach children about money and the value of it, especially children with special needs, there needs to be a realness to the money. The bills are large with correct denominations as is the change. I’m so excited to give this to my son’s teacher so they can start using it.
We have had a few different money sets to use for learning and playing. This is the best one we’ve used by far. The money is more representational rather than colored with bright colors or inaccurate designs. It has been much more successful in teaching what the various coins and bills look like. The wooden case resembles a cash register drawer, although I wish it had a lid for easier storage. Despite that, we absolutely love this set!
