The Groundbreaker 2 tent has an airy interior, with a spacious dome architecture, and a large D-shaped door that makes it easy to come and go. We bought this for my son (10) and my husband to use on their backpacking trips. It’s a great tent- light and easy.
After about 10 months when one of the poles snapped. We called REI and they couldn’t get a replacement pole, so they sent a new tent. We try to buy any tents, sleeping bags, shoes, etc from REI because we know the service is so perfect. We’re ready to hit the road with this tent again.
This tent is minimal, but somehow, it kept us remarkably dry and comfortable on three trips that included long, rainy nights. The rainfly is small, but it works well to keep the rain off and away from the rest of the tent. Compact and easy to set up.
