Target’s Drive Up Service Now Includes Starbucks Pick Up
Your future Target runs could take place entirely in the parking lot! 😱
In 2022, Target announced plans to expand its same-day pickup services by adding a few new features that curbside pick-up shoppers were sure to love.
One major addition they tested was the addition of making returns from the comfort of your car with Target Drive Up. Now that testing has turned into a nationwide rollout – SO AWESOME!
If you have a return but don’t want to enter the store, you can initiate a return via the Target app and complete it in the Drive-Up lane. It’s fast, free, and so convenient!
It’s a great option if you don’t want to take all the kiddos inside, if the weather is inclement, you have mobility issues, or just if you simply don’t want to get out of the car. 😅
Now you can add Starbucks to your Drive Up order!
Target has also announced that customers can now add Starbucks to a Drive Up order! This feature is rolling out to stores nationwide and will be available at all 1,700+ Targets with both Starbucks and Drive Up by October!
Ordering Starbucks for Drive Up is easy! Simply click on the Order Details page and tap that you’re on the way for your Drive Up pickup. Then, you’ll receive a prompt in the app to place your order from a Starbucks menu. Add up to 8 items from under the Starbucks Cafe option, click “Add for Drive Up,” and pay for your order. Once you arrive in the Drive Up parking area, tap “I’m here” in the Target app. Upon arrival, a Target Drive Up team member will deliver both your Target and Starbucks orders directly to your car. Yay!
Just make sure to arrive within 30 minutes or your Starbucks order may be discarded.
Target’s “backup item” functionality is expanding, also.
In addition to these exciting Drive Up enhancements, Target is also planning to expand its “backup item” functionality to more categories (like beauty and household essentials), so shoppers can suggest substitutions for unavailable items.
“Our guests continue to tell us they love the ease and convenience of Drive Up, and they have been asking us to add even more of the Target experience to the service. Adding a Starbucks order and easy returns, while expanding our backup item options, will give guests even more of what they love about shopping at Target, quickly and easily.” – Mark Schindele, Target’s chief stores officer
Which one of these services from Target are you most excited to use?
This is why I love Target! Don’t even remember the last time I went inside the store. Love being able to add things to my cart as we need them and then checkout when I’m ready. Also, being able to just drive up is such a time saver. I know I spend more with Target because they have made everything so convenient.
YAY! 🎉 Thanks a ton for you’re honest thoughts on Target’s Drive Up service, MCouzens! Happy to hear that you’ve found it to be super convenient and time savings! 💕
I’m really bummed Kohls got rid of their curbside pickup bc there’s absolutely times I want to pick things up and not have my kids go in the store. i already love Target curbside so this is great.
If they would add cvs pharmacy pickup to this, I’d be set to never have to step foot in store ever again.
You can get your medication delivered from CVS to your door at 99% of pharmacies. The catch is if you have Medicaid or any other type of state free insurance you can not because federal laws will not allow it. This is true for RideAid and Walgreens also. They do have drive up windows, so if your store has one, you will not have to get out of your car, just drive up and someone comes to the drop off box.
We have the Target curbside Starbucks option here for a while and I love it. Only downside is, one can’t pay with the Starbucks app = no earning stars.
Didn’t realize Target will do curbside returns! That’s awesome!
“My” Walmart is offering curbside returns on select items. Have taken advantage of that already and have to say, so much more convenient at times!
Yes! That is super convenient.🙌💕 Thanks for sharing your experience with these services so far, Mimi!
