Wordle Party Game

5 letters, 1 word – it’s Wordle!

Did your family fall in love with the insanely popular online game, Wordle? Well, you’re in luck because Hasbro has paired up with the New York Times (owner of Wordle) to create Wordle The Party Game and it’s now ONLY $10 on Amazon or Walmart.com (regularly $19.99) – the lowest price!

The new Wordle Party Game allows you to play Wordle with friends. A teammate will pick a 5-letter secret word and then everyone tries to guess it in as few tries as possible.

Play fast mode, timed, or teams for a variety of fun ways to play. Dry-erase boards and markers are included so you can play over and over again, plus it even has green and yellow tiles to mark if your letters are in the right spots. While the game says it’s for ages 14+, it would also be a fun way to practice spelling with younger kids!

How fun! I’ve been playing with my 7 and 10yo, and my 15yo plays herself. Our family gets quite completitive over it. Ha!

I played this over Thanksgiving, and it’s pretty time-consuming and prone to people making errors. It relies upon the person who decides on the word to go around to each player and put yellow and green tiles over each letter others players wrote. With a group of 4, all of us made at least one error at some point (usually missing yellow tiles that should have been placed), but not realizing until later, so it had put other players down the path of not using those letters for subsequent guesses when they should have.

It’s still fun especially if everyone is a Wordle fan — but if they’re not, it’s even more challenging (for them to be trusted their job correctly when they need to place the tiles over others’ cards). You really need to be detail-oriented and diligent about thinking about every single letter someone puts down.

I’d play it again, but it’s definitely a little different than playing the regular Wordle game where the computer checks your letters instantly and accurately 🙂
