Say goodbye to 99 Cents Only Stores. 😢

Sad news just broke that 99 Cents Only Stores are winding down their operations and closing the doors of their 371 stores for good.

Our hearts hurt for the company’s employees and we wish these budget stores weren’t becoming a thing of the past. However, there is a silver lining. The company is liquidating all merchandise via a  Going Out Of Business Sale.

Just hours ago, the company made a Facebook post telling patrons that they can get up to 30% off the entire store starting now. The sale is available at all locations. To find one near you, visit the company’s website.

It’s important to note that several store customers on Facebook reported that the location near them had not discounted items yet. Other customers mentioned their store’s employees weren’t aware of the closing. 💔

Perhaps this news was very sudden, so if the discount isn’t posted at your store, consider asking the manager or checking back another day. Store employees may be negatively impacted by this change, so please keep that in mind when shopping.

Some of the departments you’ll find in the store include beauty, party supplies, holiday supplies, pet care, brand name closeouts, fresh produce, cleaning supplies, home goods, snacks, and beer & wine.

Hurry to your local store to shop the sale and get the best of the goods before they’re gone. The store honors gift cards through April 19, 2024.

Here’s what some Facebook fans of the store had to say about the news…

“I am going to miss your stores. So many memories and such great savings. I am in debt to your business for helping my family get through the hardest of times. I just don’t know how low income consumers are going to be without you.”

“I’m so upset !!! 😭😭😭 this is my fave place to shop, especially for holiday stuff, Halloween and Christmas this was my go-to!! 😭😭😭 I hate this!”

“That’s what happens when you go from EVERYTHING 99 cents to basically NOTHING being 99 cents. Stopped going years ago when it switched. And we did our main grocery shopping there.”

“This is a terrible economic hit on the average American 🇺🇸. We needed you 99 store! RIP 💐

“My heart is breaking for all the kids and families who rely on 99 cents only, dollar tree, and family dollar for food, holiday gifts, school supplies etc… between this, the closures of almost 1000 dollar tree/family dollar stores… the thousands of people who will lose their jobs and inflation…People are losing their resources. This is heartbreaking. 💔💔💔

I used to shop there almost every day then they started really changing the prices, long before Covid. I never knew what was .99 Sadly, I know many people rely on these stores

Dollar tree will be fine. $1.25 is perfectly fine. And even their little area where items are more are worth it. I got HUGE planters for my front door for $5. Very similar to the $30 ones I bought from Walmart that was posted on hip2save. 99 store was doomed the day they raised the prices. Almost nothing was ever .99 cents. The quality of the items was junk and didn’t warrant more than a buck. Then Walmart
