Artsana, the manufacturer of Chicco KidFit booster seats, has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit alleging that the products are not as safe as they were advertised to be. This settlement includes consumers who bought one or more Chicco KidFit booster seats in the US and its territories between April 22, 2015, and December 31, 2021.

The following models of Chicco KidFit booster seats are included in the settlement:

  • KidFit
  • KidFit Zip
  • KidFit Zip Air
  • KidFit Luxe
  • KidFit Plus
  • KidFit Air Plus

Consumers may now file claims to receive up to $50 per eligible KidFit booster seat (with proof of purchase from the applicable time period).

If you registered one of the qualifying products, you may have already received direct notice about the settlement via mail or email. In that case, you can simply visit the Artsana booster seat settlement website and simply enter the unique notice ID and confirmation code exactly as it appears on your notice.

If you did not receive a personalized notice regarding the settlement, you can still file a claim by selecting the second option on the Artsana booster seat settlement website.

Consumers who submit claims without proof of purchase can still receive $25 per eligible product. In this case, you’ll be asked to provide at least two of the following additional details about your purchase:

  • The product’s serial number
  • The model name and primary or secondary seat colors
  • The retailer, month, and year of purchase
  • The municipality and state in which the KidFit product was purchased along with a picture of the item

A final approval hearing is scheduled for October 12, 2023. Payments will be distributed “as soon as possible” after the court grants final approval and any appeals/objections are resolved. The deadline to submit a claim is 60 days after final approval, making December 11, 2023, the earliest possible claim deadline at this time.
