Nearly 20 Million Eggs Recalled Due to Salmonella – Check Your Fridge!

Here’s what you need to know about the latest egg recall!

Approximately 1.7 million cartons of eggs from the August Egg Company have been recalled due to a Salmonella outbreak. These cartons were sold across nine states for a total of 20 million eggs so check your fridge STAT! 😱

There have been a total of 79 Salmonella cases resulting in 21 hospitalizations. Symptoms of Salmonella include diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps, which typically occur 6 hours to 6 days after exposure to the bacteria. You can read more about the full CDC investigation here.

Infected egg cartons were sold in Arizona, California, Illinois, Indiana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, Washington, and Wyoming to the following stores: Walmart, Save Mart, FoodMaxx, Lucky, Smart & Final, Safeway, Raley’s, Food 4 Less, and Ralphs. Cartons also have sell-by dates from March 4, 2025, to June 19, 2025.

Salmonella can survive in both raw and undercooked eggs. So if in doubt, toss it out! 

What should you do?

DO NOT eat or serve any recalled eggs. Wash items and surfaces that may have come into contact with eggs. If you have any of these recalled products in your home or business, throw them out or return them to the store for a full refund.
