Fabuloso Recalls 4.9 Million Bottles of Cleaning Products Due to Risk of Bacteria
Fabuloso has issued a voluntary recall of nearly five million bottles of its multi-purpose cleaners due to the risk of bacterial growth.
In a statement on its website, the company said that it failed to add a preservative “at the intended levels during manufacturing,” which allowed for the growth of a bacteria called Pseudomonas species.
Pseudomonas species is a type of bacteria that naturally occurs in soil and water. It can enter the body through the eyes, a break in the skin, or by inhaling it. People with healthy immune systems are often unaffected by this kind of bacteria, but it can be especially harmful to those with weakened immune systems, external medical devices, or underlying lung conditions.
The recalled bottles of Fabuloso were manufactured between December 14, 2022, through January 23, 2023. They include various scents and sizes of the brand’s popular Multi-Purpose Cleaner that were sold at retailers in the US and Canada, including Amazon, Dollar General, The Home Depot, Sam’s Club, and Walmart.
The company reports that around 80% of the bottles were never released for sale, but you may still have some of the recalled products in your possession. A complete list of the recalled products can be found at www.Fabuloso.com/recall.
The first eight digits of the lot code of the recalled products are 2348US78 through 2365US78 and 3001US78 through 3023US78. The lot code can be found on the back of the bottle either directly above the label or towards the top of the bottle.
If you do have any of the recalled products, you should immediately stop using them and dispose of them in their containers. Consumers can request a refund here or by calling the company at 1-855-703-0166.
I used all my bottles. Who takes pics of their products before opening? Lol why do I have to show pic of bottles? Isn’t receipt enough
Hey James! You might try reaching out to customer service at 1-855-703-0166 to see if uploading a photo of the receipt with the recalled items circled would be sufficient for a refund. Hoping this might be helpful! 🤞💕
I almost bought this a couple of weeks ago, but something told me to go with the Mr Clean instead. So glad I did!!
Wait. What is this saying about their cleaner? How can a bacteria grow in a cleaner? Does that also mean it doesn’t “kill” bacteria around the house as you clean? I guess it’s just for scent purposes
Hey Rebecca! According to their statement, it seems they failed to add a preservative “at the intended levels during manufacturing,” which allowed for the growth of a bacteria. Hoping this might be helpful! 💕
