Food Recall Alert! Ready-to-Eat Pizza & Focaccia Recalled Due to Metal Contamination

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has recalled more than 25,000 cases of ready-to-eat pizza and other bread products due to possible metal contamination.
The concern is that small metal fragments could pose a choking or injury risk if consumed.
The affected products were sold at Trader Joe’s, Meijer, and through the HelloFresh delivery service to 10 states, including Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, North Carolina, New Jersey, Texas, and Virginia. The recalled items include:

- Lot 20367483 UB 6/29/26
- Lot 20367483 UB 6/30/26
- Lot 20377537 UB 9/4/26
- Lot 20377821 UB 9/5/26
- Frederik’s by Meijer Slow-Roasted Tomato & Shredded Parmesan Cheese Focaccia (13.75 oz.), UPC 7 13733 88387 0
- Fresh & Simple Roasted Tomato & Parmesan Focaccia (13.75 oz)
- Trader Joe’s Roasted Tomato & Parmesan Focaccia Bread
The recall was announced by the FDA and later classified by the USDA as a Class II recall, meaning the products may cause temporary or reversible health effects. While no widespread injuries have been reported, consumers are urged not to eat these products.
Instead, return them to the store for a full refund and check your refrigerator or freezer for any affected items.
