On July 12, 2026, the United States Postal Service will increase the price of First-Class Forever Stamps from their current cost of 78¢ to 82¢. In addition, USPS is increasing the cost of metered letters, postcards, and international mail by almost 5%.

Hip Tip: Stock up on Forever stamps now! USPS has a variety of stamp sheets and books available with free standard shipping (there is a small handling fee). Or save on shipping & head to your local post office, grocery store, or bank to stock up in person.

I pretty much try not to use the mail service. I’m sure soon it will be close to a dollar to send a letter.
I had enough when the local Florida postman said he make $100,000 a year to deliver junk mail.

I still send cards to children fro their birthdays. They love it because they never get mail. I also send to friends going through cancer treatments and hard things in life. Luckily Dollar Tree still have 2 for $1.00 cards. The stamps are getting ridiculous. I have the worst PO in NY. They won’t even pick up the phone.

Fewer people send things in the mail due to the price increases so then the post office loses money which causes another price increase. Do the increases ever end or will someone try to restructure the post office? I used to send mail all the time but avoid it unless I absolutely have to!

wow! Last couple years it has cost so much more for postage for my Christmas cards then the cards themselves. and I feel like I receive way less and I bet that’s why.
