State Farm Is Sending Our Team Member Nearly $300 – Check If You’re Getting a Dividend Too!

If you have State Farm auto insurance, keep an eye on your inbox or mailbox because you could have some unexpected cash headed your way!
State Farm is returning $5 billion to eligible auto policyholders through a one-time dividend payment. If you had a State Farm Mutual private passenger auto policy that was active at any point during 2025, you may qualify to receive a payout.
Here’s what you need to know:
- Your payment is based on 4%–10% of the premium you paid for each qualifying auto policy in 2025, depending on your state.
- If you have multiple insured vehicles, you’ll receive a separate dividend payment and separate notification for each eligible policy.
- If State Farm has your email address on file, you’ll receive an email with instructions to choose a digital payment or a mailed check (State Farm will automatically mail you a paper check if there is no email on file).
- Payments are being sent in waves by state and will continue over the next several months since more than 49 million eligible vehicles are involved.
- Payments under $10 won’t be issued.
If you haven’t received a notification yet, don’t panic, as it may simply not be your state’s turn. If you’d rather not wait, you can head to sfdividend.com, contact your local State Farm agent, or call the State Farm Dividend Customer Contact Center at 1-888-808-9532 to ask about your eligibility or estimated payment timeframe.
Angela, a Hip2Save team member, just checked with her own agent and found out she’s receiving two separate dividend payments totaling just under $300 because she has two qualifying auto policies!
If you’re a State Farm customer, this is definitely one email (or letter!) you won’t want to overlook. If you’ve already received your dividend notification, let us know how much you’re getting in the comments!
hopefully I will. I’m shopping new auto insurance right now. state farm is too expensive.
Woohoo! I should be getting just under $250 back. It says payment will process on 9/5, so I’ll update back here if/when it does. Thanks for posting this!
YAY! 🎉 Thanks for sharing the details about your payment, Melissa! Hoping it processes smoothly! 💞
While I’m grateful to get anything… very disappointed that it is only $75.
There is no way to learn about the calculation.
Jill,
If it makes you feel better…$40 for mine 😬 I guess it would be based on the vehicle cost or insurance premium during that specified time? I really don’t know lol
That’s nice. Just know they didn’t pay me when a few the dog I didn’t know, German shepherd attacked me and caused lot of injuries and State Farm said that I shouldn’t have been running there.
They paid my medical but not the clothes the dog ripped up and no pain and suffering, but they give our dividends?
And blamed me. I wouldn’t do business with them. Not matter what.
We were with State Farm for years but every 6 months our policy would increase even though we had no accidents, no tickets, no claims. We finally left them in 2025. I wonder if we will still get a payout.
I received $225 in checks (one for each vehicle) that came in the mail about 2 weeks ago. After being with State Farm so long, it was a same but welcome surprise.
SMALL, but welcome surprise, that is 🙂
Thanks a bunch for sharing, Cathy! Definitely a great surprise!
That’s small? LOL 😆 I’d be happy for that amount. $40 is what’s coming here. Your small, may be someone’s huge!
Looks like I’m getting a little over $125!! Does anyone know if this will have to be reported on our taxes? Thanks!
Awesome, Alicia! 🙌 I’m not finding any tax details in their FAQ. You might reach out to them via their contact info. I did find that for you! The number is 1-888-808-9532, or email admin@SFDividend.com.
This happened to my auto insurance agent- she got $800 back from Progressive. A friend of mine got $300 from USAA.
