Walmart Sensory Friendly Shopping Hours in July & August | Reduced Light & Noise
Head to Walmart for all your Back-To-School needs!
Walmart is making back-to-school shopping easier for all customers. Every Saturday, from July 8th to August 26th Walmart will hold sensory-friendly shopping hours from 8 AM – 10 AM in most stores!
For areas that start school after Labor Day, these sensory-friendly hours will run from July 22nd through September 9th.
During these sensory-friendly hours, the lights in the store will be dimmed, radios will be turned down, and any monitors or screens will be changed to static rather than moving images to create a more pleasant shopping experience for those with autism, sensory processing disorder, and other sensitivities.
Since not every Walmart store is participating in sensory-friendly hours, we suggest calling your store to see if it’s being offered before you head out.
Not only are they making it easier to shop in stores but they’ve got school supplies from just 15¢, making shopping easier on your wallet too! Head here to check out the best deals on Walmart school supplies!

that’s really great hope they keep it up.
Wow. I will have to check if my store is doing this. It would be even better if it was on a weekday when the store is a little less busy, but I am impressed that they are trying.
Hoping they will be offering this at a store near you, V! π€π
