Zicam & Orajel Swabs Recalled Due to Contamination Risk
We’re sharing the latest news on the Zicam & Orajel Swabs recall.
Heads up! Zicam & Orajel Swabs have been recalled over contamination risk. Church & Dwight Co., Inc. is voluntarily recalling select Zicam and Orajel swab products due to potential fungal contamination in the cotton swab tips.
Here’s a breakdown of what’s been recalled:
- Zicam Cold Remedy Nasal Swabs with UPC 732216301205 – all lots
- Zicam Nasal AllClear Swabs with UPC 73221630165 – all lots
- Orajel Baby Teething Swabs with UPC 310310400002 – all lots
Consumers are urged to stop using these products immediately, as contaminated swabs could pose serious health risks, especially for children or individuals with weakened immune systems. While no serious adverse events have been reported, the FDA warns of potential infections, including life-threatening ones.
The recall is nationwide, including Puerto Rico, but applies only to the listed swab products. Other Zicam and Orajel products, like RapidMelts, are not affected.
Consumers who have purchased any of the recalled products should visit www.churchdwightrecall.com or call its Consumer Relations team at (800) 981-4710 for a full refund.
Has anyone filed for this recall? I did a few days ago but didn’t receive any confirmation email. Just wanted to see if that is the same experience for others.

Same for me… I filed a few days ago and have received nothing

If it’s still not showing up, it could be helpful to contact their Consumer Relations team at (800) 981-4710 (Monday–Friday, 9AM–5PM ET) to see if they can locate your claim using your info. 🤞
I called them yesterday and they sent me a link while on the phone with them to take a photo of my box. She said they are sending a “kit” so I can mail back the Zicam box and contents. Apparently the photos she required weren’t proof enough? After they receive that she said I would receive my refund. This was by no means the issue I was concerned with, as someone with medical conditions, this recall was very concerning to me, nothing is safe anymore.
