Wondering how to clean the tarnished sterling silver jewelry pieces you have laying around?
I am excited to share this method of cleaning sterling silver that I have personally found so helpful and easy! It honestly may have you volunteering to shine everyone’s silver jewelry because the results are so dazzling and satisfying. ✨
After I wrote up a recent post on how to organize jewelry using a thread rack, I found a few older pieces of tarnished silver jewelry that I haven’t worn in a very long time. I was in a purging mood and almost donated them, but I’m so glad I didn’t!
Introducing the fastest way to clean tarnished sterling silver jewelry in one step!
I happened to have a container of Connoisseurs silver jewelry cleaner sitting in my closet that I forgot I had purchased months ago, and decided to test it out.
Before diving in, know that this post is not sponsored. I couldn’t help but rave about it to our Hip2Save team and thought all you awesome readers might want to know more about this silver jewelry cleaner as well!
Verdict: Oh my gosh, this stuff works like magic with a 10-second soak! The results are incredible. 🤩 Tarnished silver gets sparkling so fast.
Hands down, this is the easiest way to clean sterling silver jewelry… EVER.
All you have to do is use the tray provided to quickly dip silver jewelry into the jar for 10 seconds. It comes out sparkling, and the liquid doesn’t even touch your fingers! I followed up by drying it with a silver polishing cloth and polished it for a few seconds. I love how clean and sparkly the tarnished silver transforms almost instantly!
Important Warning: This cleaner is for STERLING silver only! Do not use it with precious stones, pearls, gold, platinum, or other metals. It could ruin them.
Did anyone else collect Tiffany & Co silver jewelry in the 90s or 2000s?
I used to have some of the chain pieces and they are so hard to polish using only a silver polishing cloth because of all the grooves! This silver jewelry cleaner does a great job since you are fully immersing the piece into the cleaner.
Is there a downside to using this jewelry cleaner? Well yes, there kind of is.
So the cleaner stinks kinda like sulfur or rotten eggs and has the oddest smell. Luckily you can be done with it quickly! Ha! Also be sure to store it completely shut, and use it on a surface that it would never spill. Luckily you don’t really have to touch it because of the dipping tray.
Also maybe consider wearing wear gloves as I ruined one corner on my fancy dip manicure doing these photos! LOL dang. 😂
Overall I am a fan of this Connoisseurs one-step silver jewelry cleaner and recommend it!
This is the first time I’ve tried a dipping cleaner for silver and it’s worked well. I like that the directions are easy to follow, it’s affordable, and it works as described! If you can get past the smell for short periods of time, this stuff is a great option!
Where can you buy Connoisseurs cleaner for sterling silver?
I actually used my Kohl’s cash to buy it at Kohl’s and also paired it with the silver polishing cloth since those are both under $10. You can pick it up at most big box retailers like Target, Walmart, and also online at Amazon.com!
Need a couple of recommendations on a dip cleaner for fine jewelry?
Since you cannot use the silver cleaner on diamonds or platinum, I was on the hunt for something to clean my platinum and diamond wedding ring. Weiman fine jewelry cleaner did a great job and is also inexpensive at under $4. It comes highly-rated via Amazon which is why I picked it to test.
With this cleaner, the soak time is longer at 30 minutes and it comes with a little brush, but it did make my ring sparkle!
Connoisseurs brand has a highly rated fine jewelry cleaner as well. My teammate Amber personally uses that one and says it works great for her!
