Get your Starbucks Frappuccino fix for less!

If you’re a fan of Starbucks’ Frappuccinos, you know that the cost of indulging in these yummy frozen treats can add up fast. A basic Grande Mocha Frappuccino ordered straight off the menu, with no additional shots or other add-ins, will run you about $5 every time. 😬

Hip2Save reader Chris let us in on a little secret that has been a huge money-saver for him. He shared that the Frozen Bean Frappe blends sold at Walmart mix up easily at home and taste literally just like the Frappuccinos at Starbucks!

Frozen Bean Frappe mixes are sold in a pouch that makes two 8 oz servings, which would be enough to make two Short Frappuccinos or one Grande beverage.

Stetson found the Mocha Latte flavor at his local Walmart, where it was sold in-store only for just $1.25. Some locations currently have them marked down to as low as 40¢ each! This is a money-saving game-changer, even at full price, when compared to the cost of a Starbucks Frappuccino! 🙌

This mix already contains coffee and can be served either hot or cold. It can be prepared simply by adding milk or water to the mix. Stetson blended his with milk and ice… and topped it with a little whipped cream to see how it would compare to the Starbucks Mocha Frappuccino. 😋

Here’s what Stetson thought about the Frozen Bean Instant Mix:

“This was so easy to make – it literally took less than a minute! It seriously tasted almost identical to the Starbucks Frappuccino, which really surprised me since the mix was SO much cheaper. I’ll still enjoy the real deal once in a while, but I love that now I can get that frosty mocha/coffee blend without the time and expense of a making a trip to Starbucks. Plus, I’m usually not so great in the kitchen, so creating a successful frapp at home in under 1 minutes was a big win for me! ” 🙌 – Stetson

Frozen Bean is absolutely the best!!! We discovered these at Walmart a few years back when they had cotton candy, mermaid, and unicorn flavor. I wish they would come back with some of these flavors because they truly are the best! Especially the cotton candy – approved by all six of us- hands down! If you visit the bulk section at Walmart (oversized products) they have the Frozen Bean vanilla bean latte. It’s great hot, iced and frozen(blended).

We have been using this for a few years also! Recently made the recipe for McFlurries found here on this site and mixed the Java chip mix in at the same time as the condensed milk……it makes a wonderful afternoon treat.

      Awww, that sounds amazing!

My daughter loves these! However our Walmart just discontinued them 😥

Mine too. I found that adding a packed of hot cocoa mix does almost the same thing! I freeze leftover coffee in ice cube trays, makes the frappe creamier! (I portion out 1 tbsp per cube, my ice tray has 16 slots) This is enough to make 2 servings or 1 selfish serving LOL!! Add 1 C milk or alternative in blender with a tray of coffee cubes, 1 packet of cocoa mix and 1-2 tsp vanilla extract. Blend. If it’s too think, add a little more milk til you get a good creamy consistency. I like to spluge every now and again on the Girardelli chocolate sauce, so I’ll squiret a bit around the glass/es then pour in frappe and top with whipping cream and more chocolate syrup!

Yea, I saw mine had the Caramel Macchiato flavor on clearance (the only flavor they have had since quarantine in March) They haven’t had any of the small packets either, but thats fine because I drink enough of it to justify the big can. I had tried the Unicorn and loved it, and would highly recommend it (it was coconut). I think they had a hard time getting people to buy it in the coffee city so thats probably why they are having to get rid of it. (Seattle)

Love these! My store no longer carries them but found them online. I substitute brewed coffee for the water which gives it more coffee flavor.

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

What a great idea! Thanks for the tip, Linda!

These are my absolute favorite !!!

My kids LOVE these. We’ve been making them for a couple of years now but they are hard to find. Walmart is always out of them. They are very good though!

At Grocery Outlet, (at least at mine) they have a brand called Big Train, they make Chai, Vanilla, Coffee, Mocha, Cotton Candy, Frozen Hot Chocolate, Caramel, Horchata, Chocolate Chai, Toffee Mocha. I can’t even explain how good the Chai is. They also sell them on Amazon for like 13$ for a 3 lbs bag, but mine was 5$ Thank you Grocery Outlet!

    • KKStanley

Big Train was the first one used in our area at coffee stands. It’s soooooo delicious!!
Of course being in the Seattle area we can be pretty particular about our coffee drinks.
Big Train seems to be a huge favorite!

Frozen Bean is awesome! I order a 21 oz. can of caramel macchiato and vanilla bean latte for 4.98 each. You can also add it to hot coffee as a creamer. Yummy!😋 But I still love my Starbucks☕️

We make these with our ninja coffee maker and a blender! It’s SO easy and you can pick the coffee you like.

  10. Mel

Are they sold in the coffee aisle?

    • jennap

Hi there Mel! That’s where we spotted them!

  11. Ca

It is ironic that you posted this because we have used Frozen Bean for years. Just this week, I am pretty sure our Walmart stopped carrying FB. There is no place left on the shelf for it, so I assume they are discontinuing it. 🙁

    • Kristi Stanley

Check at Walmart.com…That’s where I get mine! I hope they still have them!
      Good Luck👍
