Move over Little Debbie, these Great Value snacks take the cake! 🧁

Reworking your New Year budget? Try adding these Great Value snacks instead of the name brand to your next Walmart run. Even better, many of them might outshine the originals (yes, really!) and come with fewer calories too!

We tried 4 Great Value snack cakes and their popular Little Debbie counterparts and here’s our honest feedback:

1.  Little Debbie Honey Buns vs. Great Value Honey Buns Glazed

Total savings: 50¢

Same size, same glaze-to-bun ratio, and a lower price – what’s not to love? Some reviewers mention the GV bun is a bit firmer, but a quick microwave fix does the trick. Plus, it’s not overly sweet and has just 210 calories, versus Little Debbie’s 230!

2. Little Debbie Swiss Rolls vs. Great Value Swiss Rolls

Great Value Swiss Rolls are nearly identical to Little Debbie; same size, swirl, and frosting-to-cake ratio, with the same moist and creamy filling. You’d be hard-pressed to find a difference, and they’re lighter too, with only 240 calories versus 280, and less total and saturated fat.

3. Hostess Snoballs vs. Great Value Pink Snowball Snack Cakes

Price difference: 46¢ per cake

Despite the bigger box size and lower price, this one doesn’t live up to the Hostess original! The marshmallow peels off instead of being gooey, and the muted flavors fail to satisfy a sweet craving 😖

4. Little Debbie Nutty Bars vs. Great Value Peanut Butter Bars

The winner in my book IS the GV Peanut Butter Bars! 🏆 The crunch, the melt-in-your-mouth peanut butter, and the creamy milk chocolate were completely identical, so for the price, you know I’m going to reach for GV!

PLUS, this GV swap had some of the best nutritional facts when compared to Little Debbie:

GV Peanut Butter Bars (2 wafers)

  • Calories: 280
  • Total Fat: 16g
  • Total Carbohydrates: 32g

Little Debbie Nutty Buddy Bars (2 wafers)

  • Calories: 320
  • Total Fat: 19g
  • Total Carbohydrates: 32g

It’s no surprise hundreds of reviewers love the taste of these Great Value snacks, too!

I have always ordered the Name Brand of these wafer bars. This time I decided to try the Great Value peanut butter bars. They are every bit as good as the name brand, and I will buy these from now on. Saved over $1.00. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Why are these better than the name brand?! I typically stick with name-brand foods, but I saw these and thought I would give them a try. Absolutely blown away by the taste and costs. I will buy it again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

These are by far the most delicious little treats if you are on a budget! Good at morning, noon or night! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
