I’m falling in love with my new cape sweater from Kohl’s (PS – Lauren Conrad clothing rarely disappoints!)

Autumn is one of my favorite seasons. I love the changing leaves, the pumpkins on nearly every porch, and of course, the fashion. From cozy sweaters to knee-high boots, the colder season offers SO MANY cute clothing options! The other week, I pulled my winter clothes out of the back of my closet, and after looking them over, I realized I was ready for a wardrobe refresh. ⭐️
I’ve been carefully curating some new items to wear this fall and winter – new boots, a few sweaters, and now this cape sweater from Lauren Conrad. It’s one of my favorite purchases of the year! I found it when I was browsing the women’s fashion section at Kohl’s and this cape looked so cute on the model that I bought it sight unseen from the internet. 😆

When the cape sweater arrived a few days later, it exceeded my expectations. This “one size fits most” garment is made from soft acrylic yarn and it’s unbelievably comfortable. When I tried it on, it instantly elevated my outfit!
I also couldn’t help but notice how similar it looked to the winter capes being sold by big-name designers like Calvin Klein, Max Mara, and Kate Millen. It also resembled a cape I saw at Anthropologie, except mine was a fraction of the cost (thank you, Lauren Conrad 🙌).
Here are 5 reasons I love my new Lauren Conrad cape sweater from Kohls:
1. It’s fashionable AND it’s functional.
Sweater season is chilly. I don’t just want to look cute; I need to feel warm and comfortable, too! What I love most about this winter cape from Lauren Conrad is that it’s a very practical garment. Not only is it made from a soft knit, but it’s thick enough to provide some extra warmth.
It has a full turtleneck to keep the neck area warm and protected from the wind. I appreciate how thick the turtleneck is while still being breathable.
Unlike many shawls and ponchos, this cape includes arm holes. The sleeves come to right past my elbow and provide warmth for the upper arms. The addition of the sleeves also helps to keep the cape sweater securely in place.
Who doesn’t love pockets? This cape includes two big, wide pockets. I use them to keep my hands toasty and they are large enough that they can also carry small belongings.
I also dig the length. At 5’7″ the cape goes all the way to my upper thigh, giving me great coverage from the cold.
2. Like other Lauren Conrad clothing, this cape has stylish details.
This cape is effortlessly chic. Lauren Conrad clothing offers a lot of fashionable styles and this cape is no exception. I love the contrasting trim, the large button closure near the neck, the double thick turtleneck, and the addition of pockets. It is impressive how this cape can turn a basic outfit – an olive green henley and jeans – into a very fashionable look.
3. It looks so cute with fall boots.
I am a boots girl through and through. Any time I can wear my boots, I’ll do it! I just bought some new knee-highs for the season and they look incredible with this cape. It’s an ideal look to wear in fall pictures, at a fall festival, or at a holiday gathering.
4. This cape sweater is an affordable Anthropologie-inspired piece (and also similar to designer styles from Saint Laurent, Max Mara, Kate Millen, and Calvin Klein!).

The easier the better! This Kohl’s cape can be placed in both the washing machine and the dryer — no trips to the dry cleaner which makes it a winner for me!
I feel a little silly when I use the term “cape,” because it conjures up the image of a wizard. 😆 However, this Kohl’s cape is truly magical!✨
Like the other Lauren Conrad clothing I own, this sweater is trendy and well-made. It’s super cozy, super comfortable, and it’s actually warm. It’s double thick in sensitive areas like the neck, while the body of the cape is a medium thickness that’s breathability. I appreciate its versatility and I love how it can be casual or dressy depending on the shoes and accessories I wear with it. I do have to be careful to not snag the fabric on my jewelry, but otherwise, I’m loving it.
In addition to the ivory shade I am wearing, the cape also comes in black and red. I have already purchased it in black and at the current price, I might have to scoop up the red too! 🙈

Personally, i think Kara did a better job modeling the cape than they did for the images on Kohls.com . I wouldn’t buy it from the Kohls pics, but i l ready put it in my basket bc it looks so darned cute on her!!! ☺️
