The Mr. Coffee iced coffee maker gained viral status, and I totally understand why!
Calling all iced coffee lovers!
I first saw this Mr. Coffee Iced Coffee Machine at the peak of quarantine in 2020, and when I tell you I looked EVERYWHERE to buy one, I really did! It was sold out at every retailer, including Amazon, and at the time, it was really the only automatic coffee machine I had seen specifically for iced coffee (probably why it became so popular).
I was so glad when I found it on sale!
For a limited time you can, too – score this awesome iced coffee maker for only $22.99 (regularly $44.99) on BestBuy.com.

Read on to find out why this has become my favorite coffee maker….
Every time I’ve tried brewing my own iced coffee with a standard hot drip-coffee machine, it was always super watery and just didn’t taste the way I want it to.
To get my fix, I would buy the pre-brewed Starbucks Iced Coffee, and while it’s delicious, my iced coffee habit started to get very expensive because of how often I had to restock.
When I first bought this iced coffee maker, I was so excited to get to brewing, and although I had to make some modifications, it truly is one of my most coveted kitchen appliances and definitely makes the most affordable (and of course, delicious) at-home iced coffee!
This set comes with an iced coffee tumbler, straw, reusable coffee filter, and of course, the actual coffee maker. The tumbler is labeled with a water and ice line so you know how much to fill the machine with, making it foolproof for iced coffee newbies.
While I went with the standard black coffee maker, this machine comes in four colors to match any style.
How to brew with this iced coffee maker:
Start by measuring out the water with the tumbler. The machine also has a line of where to fill, but it’s based on the same measurements of the tumbler, so, if you’re using a different cup (which I’ve done), be mindful of how much water you use so it doesn’t overflow! After you put the water in, you’ll want to fill the entire cup with ice.
The coffee does come out hot so that’s why it tells you to fill it up entirely with ice because a solid amount of it will melt, but I’ve found it’s better to fill it three quarters with ice followed by adding more after the coffee is brewed. That way it won’t become too watery!
It’s obviously up to you which ground coffee you use, but I use Starbucks House Blend so I got the full effect of being my own wannabe Starbucks barista. 🤣
Once you add your ground coffee and water, turn on the machine and change the switch to the water symbol. And voila — your coffee will start to brew! I was skeptical at first since it comes out hot, but the cup is insulated so your coffee will stay cold once cooled by the ice cubes. This also works with other cups aside from the tumbler, too!
Add your sugar and creamer/milk if desired, and you’re all set to enjoy a refreshing iced coffee!
This iced coffee method follows the “Japanese iced coffee” brewing style, where you immediately pour coffee over ice, rapidly chilling it and having enough ice in the cup, so by the time you actually drink it, it’s cold. The major differences aside from that are there is no hot plate (essential for the iced coffee effect), and you can only brew one serving at a time.
The tumbler included makes sure to note how much ice to insert so you have enough ice in the cup to cool the coffee. Despite about a quarter of the ice melting, you still have a comfortable amount of ice that remains to continuously cool down your coffee and enjoy while drinking it!
One thing I wish was different is that it makes only single servings, similar to a Keurig. This isn’t a huge deal, but it does get a little annoying when more than one person wants an iced coffee, and I have to go in repeatedly doing the same steps! Other than that, there are really no other critiques!
If you can’t tell by now, I’m truly over the moon about this iced coffee maker. It is so convenient and is saving me money by not running to Starbucks three times a week 😆. I’m not looking back and recommend this to any iced coffee lover! It’s the perfect gift for your loved ones or yourself.
Hip Readers love this coffee maker too!
I got one for Mother’s Day and I LOVE it. This has really cut down my Dunkin iced coffee consumption and probably already paid for itself! I am going to give one to my dad for Father’s Day!
I received one for Christmas. I love it! I use mine every day. My favorite is to add zero sugar chai tea concentrate and a zero sugar flavored creamer. Tasty and calorie conscious! I may buy a 2nd one for my camper.
I got this the last time you posted it on sale at Target. It’s been fantastic. Love it!
I got this as a birthday present for myself last year. 🤣 It works very well. And keeps me from going to a coffee shop. I can fine-tune the amount of sugar I put in. And I can put the sugar on top of the ice, so it melts as the hot coffee hits it.
Bought this for my son when it first came out. He absolutely loves it. It’s a 24 oz cup so he bought one of those cups with various sayings on them and puts the one up it comes with for use if he breaks the other. He was costing me a small fortune at McDonald’s. This not only saved me money but it gave him more options in coffee flavors. He loves pumpkin spice and after winter the Barrismo bags were marked down to $1. each. So he bought 6 bags & we’re still using them.
Have a brew-tiful day! 😍
Did you see that Lina shared how to make a latte at home? Check out the simple steps!
Do you have to use special ice coffee for this or any coffee? Do you use kcups with this or what? Thanks 🙂
Hey May! This coffee maker comes with a scoop and reusable coffee filter that you can put your preferred brand of coffee grounds in. Hoping this is helpful! 💓
I am wondering how this is any different than using a regular coffee maker and adding ice.
Hey Lori! Great question! I did find this in the details – “The simple measuring system with included scoop makes it easy to brew the perfect ratio of hot, concentrated coffee over ice, for bold, flavorful coffee that’s never watered down.”
Hope that helps! 🤗
I’m a fan! For a hot latte, I brew it into my Yeti mug and add steamed milk. I also use a paper coffee filter so there’s virtually no clean-up.
How cool! Sounds yummy, Kristina! 😋 Thanks for sharing how you like your coffee! ☕
I scored one of these at Walmart on clearance last week, for $10!! My son loves it!
WOOHOO! What a great clearance find, Gina! Glad to hear you son is enjoying it! ☕️🎉
