Woman smelling a bar of soap in the bathroom

These smell-good suds will have you showering twice a day!

Have you ever used soap that makes your skin feel TOO squeaky clean, like it needs some serious hydration? Shugar Soapworks products won’t do that, and it’s my new favorite bar soap! I’m blown away by how soft and moisturized my skin feels after using my Charcoal Eucalyptus bar of soap (and I’m actually prone to dry skin).

And the best part? You can find this plant-based soap for only $1 at your local Dollar Tree! Yes, REALLY. 😍 I was so excited about my recent discovery that I couldn’t wait to share!

Bars of soap on a conveyor

Here’s why you should make the switch like me to this plant-based, sulfate- and paraben-free soap!

If you’ve ever read the list of ingredients on the back of body washes, you might have noticed that they often contain parabens and sulfates. But what’s wrong with that?

Believe it or not, research has shown that parabens promote breast cancer cell growth, and sulfates strip away your skin’s protective acid mantle. I don’t know about you, but that’s enough to keep me far, far away. On the other hand, Shugar Soapworks uses safe, plant-based ingredients that are anything but harmful. 🙌

Shugar Soapworks is also certified cruelty-free.

Shugar Soapworks Charcoal Eucalyptus soap is so much more than a yummy smelling bar of soap. It’s a kind bar of soap! This company proudly promotes that every product is certified cruelty-free. So if you love animals, you’ll love this vegan and cruelty-free soap, too.

The Charcoal Eucalyptus bar smells amazing!

I’ll be honest, one of the first things I look for in soap is a good scent. Don’t we all?! I prefer clean aromas that have a likeness to elements of nature, and the Charcoal Eucalyptus scent is just that! It’s a subtle musk but still leaves a lingering aroma on my hands and body after drying.

This is a no-lotion-necessary kind of soap. I even tried it out on my kiddos and my 8-year old son agrees…

“Woah! It really does make your hands feel soft, I like it!”

I’ve been using this brand of soap for a long time! I use it to clean my makeup brushes. If you’ve never used bar soap I’m TELLING YOU, you’ve gotta try it. So much more affordable and leaves the brushes soft and smelling fantastic!

    • mirandalawrence

What is your method for cleaning Makeup brushes with this? Thanks!

      • hellotashakitty

I get the bar of soap wet and my makeup brushes a little wet too. I rub the brush onto the bar of soap like I’d be applying makeup, and I just use my fingers to get a ‘deeper scrub’ for my larger brushes. I set them all aside until I’m ready to rinse and then let them air dry on a towel for the rest of the night. I clean my brushes about once every 10 days or so, and it takes me a couple months to go thru one bar. Hope that helps 🙂

    • Taylor (Sidekick)

I’ll have to try it on my makeup brushes, great idea!❤️

  5. Brooke

I make my own all natural bar soap and can vouch that switching to natural soap is one decision that you will not regret! Made the choice about 10 years ago and it makes a difference!

    • Taylor (Sidekick)

Wow, that’s amazing, Brooke! It really does feel different!

  6. Erin

My store didn’t have the charcoal variety 😔 but I got lemon verbena. I have skin that tends to be dry and the backs of my thighs are super itchy. Hope it helps!

    • Taylor (Sidekick)

I hope so too! I bet the lemon verbena scent smells amazing!

  9. Betty

Anyone know the ingredients in the soap? Is it made with lye? Thank you for any information.

    • Shirl

Found this on Shugar Soapworks site, listed under their soaps, not sure which one it’s for though.
      Ingredients
      sodium palmate >65% – sodium palm kernel 10-25% – water/aqua 10-15% – glycerin 2-3% – sodium chloride<1% – fragrance<1% – pentasodium pentetate <1% – oatmeal flakes<1%

      • Shugar Soapworks

It’s the basic formula for all our soaps! No lye ever! – Shugar

Ivory soap are also paraben-free. 99c for 1 bar soap is kind of expensive compared to $3.99/10 bars.

    • Kay

I agree that $1 for soap is not that great of a deal, but if it can clean makeup brushes that easily, I’m gonna try it. Currently I do the dishwashing soap with olive oil to clean, but using soap bar sounds so much more efficient.

    • Erin

That’s what I was thinking as well, but it is a big bar. I want to say sixish ounces? The bars I typically use (Dove, Ivory, etc.) are significantly smaller and tend to melt into nothingness quickly, so even though I usually pay about 25 cents per bar, it may not be a huge difference if these bars last–and work well for my skin!

      • Shugar Soapworks

Shugar soaps are 6.25 oz compared to 4. oz for most others including Ivory. Ours are triple milled so there is little to no air, meaning they last longer and lather better!

  12. ProudMama

Thanks for this post! My BFF’s favorite scent is eucalyptus & sometimes it’s hard to find a product that smells good. I have a few of these stores nearby & can’t wait to see if I can score a few bars for her & myself!!! I also love everything about this soap; I’d buy it over the designer soaps that have all the bad stuff in it!

    • Taylor (Sidekick)

So glad you enjoyed this post! It’s a great soap and such an awesome company to support too!

  13. VJ

Really????? Why’d you even go there?

    • VJ

Sorry, that was meant as a reply to the “arm” post. Looks like that mean-spirited post is gone now anyway.

  14. Gina

Whaaaaat!!! At Dollar Tree?? I can’t wait to get this! Thanks a bunch for this info! Keep ’em coming!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re so welcome, Gina!

  15. Ricardo Figueroa

Wood like to purchase the Charcoal Eucalyptus soap.

  16. Cat Mando

I purchased this soap from one of the Dollar Tree stores in my area two weeks ago. I decided on this soap because on the label it was vegan, sulfate free, plant based, all the good stuff. My skin has been really itchy since I’ve started using this soap. I was hoping that it was just a ph adjustment that was needed but it has not happened yet. I thought using lotion like I’ve always done after towel drying would calm my skin but it didn’t. Other body bars has never made my skin itchy. So since I don’t wear makeup and have no brushes to clean I don’t know what else to use this soap for. Won’t be able to hand wash my undies with it because it will make me itch😕.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

DARN! Thanks for the honest feedback. Sorry to hear it has made you itchy.
