When the talented women behind The Home Edit recommend something, I listen up! 😁
On their Instagram recently, The Home Edit team shared a helpful and inexpensive tool that they bring to all of their organizing jobs – a thumb scraper! A pack of 2 thumb scrapers is priced around $15 via Amazon.com. I was so on board to give it a try and report back my thoughts!
Verdict: Oh my goodness what a handy little gadget!
Here is something that does exactly what it promises, and solves annoying price tag issues like a champ. I tried it on some tough sticker price tags and the scraper tool took them all off easily.
I also tested it in my kitchen on caked-on food on the counters and on the edges of my stove. I then went on to test it on spilled dried wax from a candle. It easily scraped up lots of various tasks.
I like that the thumb scraper tool is made of nylon, has a nonslip grip, and is very easy to clean.
Do you have kids that like to decorate with stickers?!
I do! 😂 This takes them off effortlessly. I know there are many hacks to remove stickers such as using a hair dryer, using Windex, or Goo-Gone. It’s easy to grab the thumb scraper and remove them.
Here are some other uses for the thumb scraper tool:
- Easily scrapes off spilled candle wax.
- Opens soda pop-top cans.
- Opens taped shipping packages.
- Scrapes off stubborn stuck-on food on counters and dishes.
- Scrapes gum off of hard surfaces.
The thumb scraper is small but mighty!
I love how helpful this gizmo is around the house. If you have to take a bunch of stickers off of glassware, or picture frames, definitely take a scraper along to help. Overall, my take is that the thumb scraper tool is convenient to use, lightweight, and works great.
I think this could be an awesome stocking stuffer idea for the holidays since it’s small. The only downside I see is that $7 each seems a bit much but if it saves your manicure and sanity, could be worth it! 😉

I added this to one of Amazon wish lists; sometimes I’ll get notices if the price has dropped (or will be on the lookout for a post from H2S letting us know!!); would love to have one of these around the house. 🙂
Ok thanks Tracey! I’ll pass that along!
