My family is in love with this idea! I especially love how the consistency is thick, creamy and not at all soggy or slimy. I used blueberry Greek yogurt and almond milk so I didn’t need to add any additional sweetener. If you are using a plain yogurt, you may want to add a little honey or more fruit. Other commonly used ingredients in overnight oats are vanilla extract, peanut butter, cacao powder, chia seeds for added nutrition, and cinnamon & raisins. Have fun making your own creation. Enjoy!

I love making these, but I use flaxseeds instead of chia, only because it’s what I had around the house lol, and here’s another tip, I would shake it and then leave it in the fridge overnight, it makes the oats more softer.

This is a great idea. I like to top it with some hemp seeds for some healthy fats and protein and also some coconut flakes πŸ™‚ yummy!!!

I have everything except the mason jars. Also would this work good with steel cut oats? Thanks for the healthy food ideas.

    • Elizabeth M.

It does work with steel cut oats. Just a chewier texture which I really like.

One of my favorites is 1 cup of vanilla almond/cashew milk, 1/2 cup old fashioned oats, 1/4 cup frozen cherries and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Sometimes I’ll add a little stevia if I want it sweeter. So good!

What is the nutritional value on this, using 2 0/0 Greek yogurt (plain)?

  14. Lindsay

So you eat it cold? Eating cold oatmeal does not sound appealing to me at all, but it seems to be all the rage now. You don’t microwave it or anything? Anyone find the temperature off-putting? Seems odd, but I’m willing to give it a try. Looks so convenient.

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

I thought that too! Ha – but it tastes great πŸ˜€ worth a try πŸ™‚

  15. AOhio
