Today Is National Popcorn Day! We’re Sharing Our Favorite Poppin’ Products, Recipes & More

Calling all Popcorn Lovers! 🍿🙋🏼‍♀️

Did you know that TODAY, January 19th, is National Popcorn Day? In honor of my favorite snack, we’re sharing a fun popcorn product we love – as well as a few yummy recipes, popcorn tips and more!

One of our favorite popcorn products is this highly rated Salbree Microwave Popcorn Popper. It pops every kernel of popcorn perfectly in your microwave – NO oil needed! Plus, it is so easy to use – just expand the popper bowl, add the desired amount of kernels to the bowl based on the measurements on the side of the bowl, place the lid on it, and put it in the microwave for a couple minutes. Voila!

And I love that the Salbree Microwave Popcorn Popper collapses so you can easily store it away when done (also great for small apartments or college students). It’s dishwasher safe and BPA free too!

Want to Know the TOP Rated Popcorn Brands?

Did you know that the Great Northern Premium Popcorn has been voted as the best-tasting popcorn in the U.S.A.?! The All-N-One packs include pre-measured amounts of gourmet popcorn, coconut oil and butter flavored salt to make perfect popcorn every time! Use it in a popper or on the stove. YUM!

Don’t need kernels? You can also snag this highly rated Butter Flavored Coconut Oil to take your popcorn flavor to a whole new level!

And check out these POP-ular popped popcorn brands:

Looking for Fun Gift Ideas for the Popcorn Lover?

I was browsing around and spotted a few premium popcorn flavors that would make such fun gifts for any popcorn lover. This Bacon Toffee Caramel Popcorn would be great for any bacon lover and how fun would this Hot Mess Caramel Popcorn be for your spicy friend (a mix of green chiles, tequila and lime zest)! Or this G.H. Cretors “The Mix” Popcorn, is perfect for anyone who loves a sweet/salty mix as it consists of a buttery caramel corn and premium, aged cheddar cheese corn blend.

Or consider gifting this Get Poppin’ Popcorn Lovers Gift Set at your next housewarming or dinner party! And how fun are these Retro Style Plastic Popcorn Containers for movie night at home!?

How About These Yummy Popcorn Recipes?

Have you tried making popcorn in your instant post? It only takes about 2 minutes!

First, turn on your Instant Pot, push the Sauté button, and then the Adjust button, which should set your Instant Pot to a higher heat setting. Wait 2 to 3 minutes until the pot heats up.

Next add 2TB of coconut oil, and when it melts, add 1/2 cup of popcorn kernels to the pot. Then add 1/2 tsp seasoned salt, and stir to make sure kernels are coated with oil and salt. Put a clear lid on the pot, and once it pops 2/3rd of the kernels, turn off the Instant Pot. Enjoy!

Heading to the Movies Today? Save on Popcorn!

If you have a Regal Cinema nearby, they’re offering 50% off any size fresh popcorn TODAY ONLY – excluding Regal Zap Packs and select specialty popcorn products such as Cheetos popcorn, Popcornopolis, and caramel corn. Head here to see if there is a participating theater near you!

I’m with you. I love my whirley popcorn maker too.

    • Kathryn

      Me too!

  3. Jamie

OMG. No wonder I just finished my second bowl😂

I bought the same collapsible popcorn bowl awhile back and I love, love, love it! It’s so easy to use, easy to clean, easy to store. Most importantly, it makes delicious popcorn! I have a husband and a 5 year old that both agree. 👌

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

YUM! Glad to hear it April!

We use butter flavored EVOO and hands down best popcorn EVER! We tried making it in the IP and we. Would never get it all popped or without burning. So, we bought a Stir Crazy and make popcorn weekly now!

What’s the best brand for microwaveable store-bought popcorn? Like PopSecret vs Orville etc

    • Boisegal

Kroger brand makes a good popcorn: the extra buttery flavor. Winco’s brand, movie-theater flavor is a close second. I find Pop Secret too expensive, Act too greasy feeling, and Orville too dry.

Thinking of running by our Regal and getting some of their popcorn to take home. Movie theater popcorn is so good!! Wonder what half off pricing there will end up being?

  8. Katie

Cinemark Cinemas also has half off popcorn today

  9. Karen

My family was gifted Popcorn Factory this past Christmas. I’m addicted! They sell it at Costco around the holidays.

  10. Jackie

I bought the collapsible bowl for my husband and it’s great! It does an awesome job (very few unpopped kernels) and it takes up way less space than the old popper! Highly recommend it.

Old fashion popcorn prepared in a pot with oil, add salt and lemon juice once done cooking and maybe some hot sauce like Valentina or Tapatio…yummy.

I can’t wait for National National Day, when we celebrate the old National supermarket chain. Brought to us, by the Canadian Loblaws Supermarkets, in honor of it’s past US stores. Maybe the other National National Day, when we honor National days, like National Popcorn Day.

Have to say me and my butt agree, Moose Munch is the best !!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      Lol! Yes it is! 😉

My favorite way to eat popcorn is with butter and Lawry’s seasoned salt. My neighbor made it this way for me when I was a little kid and I continue to make it this way and my kids who also just love it. Try it, it is fantastic!!

    • Lena

If you like a little more spice, kick it up a notch with some Tony Chachere Creole seasoning. Yum!

We love Parmesan cheese and some garlic salt. Also we like a little pink Himalayan salt too. We grind up the pink Himalayan salt in a coffee grinder and it is amazing. I have actually ground up Cinnamon Toast Crunch and put it on popcorn. Once I realized I could grind stuff up I tried a lot of stuff. We love popcorn and Kroger’s extra butter is the best.

    • Jennifer

Great ideas thanks! I just bought my first bottle of the pink Himalayan salt

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      YUM! Thanks for the tip!

  16. Jackie

Thank you thank you HIP2SAVE Team! I’ve been looking at popcorn makers. I bought the Coca Cola red nostalgic one at Freddies last summer. Leaves alot of kernals and doesn’t pop fully. I wrote customer service awhile ago. No response going to get rid of it. Going to buy one for microwave.

    • Robin

My daughter got one of the Coke Nostalgia ones for Christmas 2016 and could never get the thing to work right either. Talk about a disappointed college student. I may have to get one of these collapsible ones for her.

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      You’re very welcome!

  17. Sarah

Boom Chicka Pop is life changingly good!!

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Oh, I wholeheartedly agree with you!!! It is THE BEST!!

  18. Crystal

Nice to know the insta pot will make popcorn! 🍿

  19. Kathryn

I love our Whirley Pop. I use Italian olive oil to cook and sprinkle Parmesan on. So good!

Have to shout give out to Jolly Time Popcorn Company. I’m the PFA president for my son’s school and called asking for money saving coupons or a donation to start Popcorn Parties as a prize for fundraising events. Not only did they send me a large stack of regular cents off coupons they also mailed me a 4 pack case of 30 oz popcorn kernels and 2 free product coupons.

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

How awesome! 🙂 Thanks for sharing.

Our office has named everyday National Popcorn day. We have popcorn every schedule work day. Our group Loves it. Each person has his and her own personal flavors that they sprinkle on the popcorn. My personal favorite is just hot popcorn. Awesome! But lately we have not been unable to find it at any of our local store’s where we usually buy in bulk due to we eat a lot of popcorn. We had planned to purchase online but the shipping cost is almost double the cost of the popcorn kernels. Please advise where we can go to pick-up popcorn kernels in bulk? Happy National Popcorn Day.

    • Mainstreetfudge&popcorn

We can sell bulk or we have100 flavors ready made

  22. Jennlk84

That Twix popcorn recipe sounds DELISH! My family doesn’t eat a lot of popcorn, so usually when we do we just purchase some microwave popcorn.
