Amazon Prime Ad-Free Becoming “Prime Video Ultra” & Increasing to $4.99/Mo

Amazon is rebranding its ad-free Prime Video streaming option to Prime Video Ultra, which will replace the current Ad Free subscription in the U.S. starting April 10th.
The new plan costs $4.99 per month, which is $2 more than the current price of $2.99 a month. It lets Prime Video subscribers watch movies and TV shows without ads while keeping the flexibility to cancel anytime.
A Prime Video Ultra plan will include up to 5 streams at once, up to 100 downloads, and exclusive access to 4K/UHD streaming.

I canceled my add on. I have so many streaming platforms, paying extra for ad free has to be really cheap.
Another bait and switch from Amazon?! NO?! How many of these are we supposed to tolerate while still letting them tell us “We’re not raising prices!”
Canceled mine – too much for what is offered. Amazon Alexa music also increased – Canceled that too.
It doesn’t seem like that much. $2 more per month. It sounds like a trivial amount. But… (there’s always a but) if you think of that in percentages, that is about a 66% increase which is huge! This on top of (pretty much all) of any kind of paid service or platform increasing. My budget can’t keep up so I’m being forced to make cuts (I didn’t have ad free to begin with) but I’m debating about even being able to keep my Prime membership. It’s frustrating being priced out of things I enjoy but it is what it is I suppose.
Prime Video used to be 100% FREE with ZERO ADS. Now they want $5/mo? Hell no.
