Is there anything more exciting than that first summer trip to the beach? 🏖️

After a long winter being cooped up inside, the kids are probably raring to go! But before they dive in, it’s important to keep those feet protected from the elements. We’ve rounded up the best kids water shoes that will keep up with the little ones on all their aquatic adventures!

1. Fresko Toddler Toes Water Shoes have an adjustable drawstring for a perfect fit!

These kids’ water shoes are a super cute way to keep their feet safe! They’re the cheapest on the list, but they don’t skimp on quality. The Frisko shoes aren’t too bulky, but they still have a thick, slip-resistant rubber sole to protect the bottom of their feet & prevent any accidents around slippery areas. Plus, they have an adjustable ankle strap to make sure they stay put!

Here’s what one reviewer had to say about their Frisko water shoes:

“Bought these last year so that my son wouldn’t burn his feet at the beach. Now at his daycare, he has water play every week and is required to have water shoes. The teachers have mentioned how much they love these shoes because they work so well compared to all the other kids’ shoes. They dry fast, are easy to put on and take off, the toes are protected well, and no slipping! The quality is great and they have held up quite nicely.”  – Alicia ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

2. Aleader Slip-On Kids Water Shoes are super lightweight and wearable!

We love that these shoes provide full coverage while still being easy to slip on! The breathable, quick-drain mesh upper makes sure their feet won’t get pruny while they’re playing around in & out of the water.

Here’s what one reviewer loved about her Aleader Water Shoe:

“Love these water shoes. I purchased them for a Costa Rican vacation and my daughter wore them every day. Hiking, white water rafting, at the beach, and more. They dry quickly at night on the floor of the hotel room and they are ready for the day of fun. If you are on the fence, buy them.” – Amber ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

These Keen sandals are fun, breathable, and perfect for all types of water activities from pool parties to snorkeling. And while they are the priciest shoes on this list, as a longtime lover of Keen shoes, I can personally attest to the quality of their products.

These shoes have an adjustable fit and are super easy to wash–just throw them in the washing machine and air-dry! Reviewers also love how light they are, so your kids won’t get weighed down while they’re running around.

Here’s what one reviewer said about their Keen kids’ sandals:

“My son loves these shoes! They’re very durable and still flexible, soft, and comfortable. They offer great toe protection and stability for play in and out of the water. They’re really easy for him to put on and fasten by himself, so they’re always the pair he chooses!” – Brittany ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

4. Native Kids Jefferson Water Shoes are stylish and effective!

If your kids aren’t crazy about the look of some water shoes, they’ll definitely come around with these! They’re stylish enough to wear anywhere while still having all the benefits of a light, breathable, slip-resistant water shoe.

Here’s what one reviewer said about their Native Kids Jefferson Shoe:

“These are the only shoes I buy for my boys now that they are active and dirty most of the day. They are cool in the summer, can get wet, and easily clean in the washing machine or by hand. In the (mild) winter, they can be worn with socks. I love the vibrant colors and allow my boys (ages 2, 3, and 4) to pick which color they want to have.” – Casey ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Hip Tip: On Amazon, you can get these awesome affordable shoes that are similar to Native! While reviewers are saying the quality isn’t quite at the same level, these are a great affordable option if you are on a budget and your little one is growing out of shoes too quickly.

5. Hiitave Kids Water Shoes are as comfy & as flexible as a pair of socks!

Kids will love that they can still swim easily in these sleek water shoes! They’re as lightweight and flexible as a pair of socks while still providing great protection from sharp objects and slipping. With over 10,000 reviews on Amazon, these shoes really stand out for being both affordable and great quality! Reviewers loved how comfortable and well-made they were.

Here’s one of the many great reviews for the Hiitave kids’ water shoes:

“These little swim shoes have been great for our summer water needs. My 2-year-old has worn these for weeks at the beach, playing at the pool, and backyard water fun and they are still in good shape at the end of the summer. He has soft feet and prefers wearing shoes so these have been great. The soles have held up well and we’ve gotten our money’s worth out of these.”  – Jenny ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Crocs’ shoes for kids are just as reliable as their grown-up counterparts! Reviewers loved how long-lasting they are and said that while they’re a little pricier than other kids’ water shoes, they’re worth the investment. They’re also super slip-resistant, supportive, and can accommodate wider feet.

Here’s why one reviewer loved the pair he got for his son:

“I’m a dad with an extremely active toddler. He was always getting his shoes wet in the mud after it would rain, so I decided to take a chance on the kids’ Crocs. If you keep them in off-road mode (what I call putting the strap on the heel) they’re surprisingly good at staying on, and now I don’t have to worry about him jumping in puddles.” – Thomas

  2. Diane

Dicks has a store brand water shoe that was inexpensive and works well for my kids this month.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Awesome! Thanks for the tip, Diane!

Walmart has very similar style to the Aleader shoes and only $10. And you can also get the shoes in the Native style for $5.99. Because the children outgrow these shoes every year, I try to purchase their water shoes as cheap as possible.

  4. Oconnor5

I just ordered 2 pair of the Keen’s for my boys. I hope they work out well.

Keen’s are fantastic shoes! I bet they will be great, Oconnor5!
