What is “Clear the List”? It’s a nationwide movement to support teachers by purchasing items for their school supply lists.

School will be back in session soon (some districts start in just a couple of weeks!) and teachers are already working hard to prepare their classrooms for the new 2024-2025 school year. This includes stocking up on school supplies for their students!

Did you know that many teachers pay for a majority of classroom supplies out of their own pockets? Yes, it’s true! Classroom supplies are not cheap and many school districts and families are struggling. This leaves many teachers to pay for school supplies themselves.

Teachers always go the extra mile for their students, so let’s show them how much we appreciate them by giving back and helping to fulfill their supply lists!

You can help by donating items from teachers’ Amazon shopping lists!

Teachers and educational professionals can head over to Amazon, create a classroom wish list, and then share their lists publicly. Anyone can ‘donate’ items that are on the list, and after donating, donors can even leave a note or message letting the teacher know how much they are appreciated. So awesome!

Even better, if you post your list on social media and tag Amazon with #clearthelist, you may find that your list is cleared BY Amazon! So cool!

Teachers, follow these steps to make your classroom wish list on Amazon:

  • Head over to Amazon and hover over Account & List at the top. Select ‘Create a List’ from the drop-down menu and name your list.
  • Hover over the three dots More menu on the right, and click Manage List to update your shipping address (this is important!) and other preferences like whether you want the list to be private or public. You can also designate whether your list is for an organization and if so, you’ll have the option to provide the website address of the organization.
  • Click ‘Save’ and then you can start adding items to your list!
  • To add items to your wish list, simply browse for products on Amazon and then click ‘Add to List’ under the Buy box on the right-hand side of any item’s product detail page.
  • Only list owners can make changes through Manage List. Both list owners and collaborators will be able to add and remove items.

If you’re a teacher, be sure to share your teacher list in the comments below so that readers can help clear the list! 🙌

Greetings! I am very excited to share with the world, I have been given the opportunity to teach kindergarten through 5th grade at Julian Elementary in downtown Charleston. I am the school’s science teacher 🙂
Mitchell EL is Charleston’s first public school. It is also a 100% high needs, at risk, and is 8% on grade reading level.
We need all hands on deck each and every day. If you can help us fill our classroom wish list, we would be so very grateful! If you can come down to the school and spend some time with us, that would be even more amazing! Thank you for caring about quality education & educating America!!!

Thank you so much! I’m going into my 8th year of teaching and at a new school. We do not have classroom funds yet because our school is building up our funding. I am so excited to get back in the classroom and could use some help with items from my wishlist. I appreciate all the help! https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2MO5W97ZFTYX3?ref_=wl_share

Hi! I can’t believe I am starting my 13th year of teaching in a few short weeks! In order to help our year be a success, I’ve put together an Amazon wishlist of assorted items that will support my students. If anyone is interested in donating to support our class, I have linked my wishlist here. Any donations would be greatly appreciated by my First Graders and me! Thank you!! 💕🍎 📚

I have been a teacher for over 25 years, but this is only my second year as a 6th grade ELA teacher. Middle school is very different from my elementary experience and I loved it last year. I realized that my classroom library was lacking in novel in verse so a lot of those are on my list.

I’m a school based occupational therapist in walled lake, Michigan. Since we aren’t “teachers” we are often forgotten when it comes to supplies and we are expected to provide everything on our own. I support children ages 2-26 with special needs so I have to have a wide variety of items to help learners of all ages and abilities, which REALLY gets expensive. Would love any and all support ❤️ thanks in advance! #clearthelist

I’m a first grade special ed teacher in MA…working primarily with kids who have Autism. It’s my 11th year but the program is totally changing so I’m needing to revamp things a bit for my students. I’d be so grateful and so would my students for any support!
