What is “Clear the List”? It’s a nationwide movement to support teachers by purchasing items for their school supply lists.

School will be back in session soon (some districts start in just a couple of weeks!) and teachers are already working hard to prepare their classrooms for the new 2024-2025 school year. This includes stocking up on school supplies for their students!

Did you know that many teachers pay for a majority of classroom supplies out of their own pockets? Yes, it’s true! Classroom supplies are not cheap and many school districts and families are struggling. This leaves many teachers to pay for school supplies themselves.

Teachers always go the extra mile for their students, so let’s show them how much we appreciate them by giving back and helping to fulfill their supply lists!

You can help by donating items from teachers’ Amazon shopping lists!

Teachers and educational professionals can head over to Amazon, create a classroom wish list, and then share their lists publicly. Anyone can ‘donate’ items that are on the list, and after donating, donors can even leave a note or message letting the teacher know how much they are appreciated. So awesome!

Even better, if you post your list on social media and tag Amazon with #clearthelist, you may find that your list is cleared BY Amazon! So cool!

Teachers, follow these steps to make your classroom wish list on Amazon:

  • Head over to Amazon and hover over Account & List at the top. Select ‘Create a List’ from the drop-down menu and name your list.
  • Hover over the three dots More menu on the right, and click Manage List to update your shipping address (this is important!) and other preferences like whether you want the list to be private or public. You can also designate whether your list is for an organization and if so, you’ll have the option to provide the website address of the organization.
  • Click ‘Save’ and then you can start adding items to your list!
  • To add items to your wish list, simply browse for products on Amazon and then click ‘Add to List’ under the Buy box on the right-hand side of any item’s product detail page.
  • Only list owners can make changes through Manage List. Both list owners and collaborators will be able to add and remove items.

If you’re a teacher, be sure to share your teacher list in the comments below so that readers can help clear the list! 🙌

I am a literacy specialist at a Title 1 school. Our students come from a wide variety of backgrounds, cultures, languages, generational poverty and trauma. Their ticket to a better life is reading. Help me teach them to read so they can have a better future. Thank you for your generosity.

As I step into my 27th year of teaching, I’m excited to create a fun and engaging environment for my Pre-K students. Our school serves a low-income community, so I’ve put together an Amazon wishlist with a few items that would really enhance our classroom experience.
If you’d like to support our little learners, your help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for considering. 💕

I’m a Special Education Teacher for students with moderate-severe disabilities. In order to make our classroom fun and engaging for my students, I love to create hands-on activities and fun-filled learning centers that my students will enjoy and learn from.
We thank you for considering our classroom

I am new to the grade level. My classroom would greatly benefit from organizational tools that can help manage the flow of activities and ensure that each child receives the attention they need. This includes items such as storage for individual learning materials, visual aids that can be easily accessed, and flexible seating options that allow students to work in a way that suits their learning style.

I would love to able to cross some items off of my list for people willing to help. I am only teaching English in 4th grade and do not have all I need, especially because I will be adding science and social studies to my classroom this year My list is attached. These items will make my 4th grade students a more enjoyable school experience. Working in a low income district does not always allow for what the students would benefit from to learn more even if that means being kind. Please consider donating if it is within your means. Thank you for your time!! My students and I will be forever thankful.

I teach Kindergarten in a rural area in southern West Virginia. We are a Title 1 school and 100% of our students receive free lunch and many are being raised by grandparents. I strive to bring play back into kindergarten and create an environment where students play to learn. These resources would help engage students in the way five and six year olds are wired to learn and make learning fun. https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/33R5MT0A58C5K?ref_=wl_share
