What is “Clear the List”? It’s a nationwide movement to support teachers by purchasing items for their school supply lists.

various school supplies in and around a cardboard box

School will be back in session soon (some districts start in just a couple of weeks!), and teachers are already working hard to prepare their classrooms for the new 2025-2026 school year. This includes stocking up on school supplies for their students!

Did you know that many teachers pay for the majority of classroom supplies out of their own pockets? Yes, it’s true! Classroom supplies are not cheap, and many school districts and families are struggling. This leaves many teachers to pay for school supplies out of their own pockets.

Teachers always go the extra mile for their students, so let’s show them how much we appreciate them by giving back and helping to fulfill their supply lists!

You can help by donating items from teachers’ Amazon shopping lists!

Teachers and educational professionals can head over to Amazon, create a classroom wish list, and then share their lists publicly. Anyone can ‘donate’ items that are on the list, and after donating, donors can even leave a note or message letting the teacher know how much they are appreciated. So awesome!

Even better, if you post your list on social media and tag Amazon with #clearthelist, you may find that your list is cleared BY Amazon! So cool!

Teachers, follow these steps to make your classroom wish list on Amazon:

  • Head over to Amazon and hover over Account & List at the top. Select ‘Create a List’ from the drop-down menu and name your list.
  • Hover over the three dots More menu on the right, and click Manage List to update your shipping address (this is important!) and other preferences like whether you want the list to be private or public. You can also designate whether your list is for an organization, and if so, you’ll have the option to provide the website address of the organization.
  • Click ‘Save’ and then you can start adding items to your list!
  • To add items to your wish list, simply browse for products on Amazon and then click ‘Add to List’ under the Buy box on the right-hand side of any item’s product detail page.
  • Only list owners can make changes through Manage List. Both list owners and collaborators will be able to add and remove items.

If you’re a teacher, be sure to share your teacher list in the comments below so that readers can help clear the list! 🙌

    Good morning,
This is my first time posting, and I’m excited to share something special! I recently hosted a “Starbooks” event for my 4th graders, and it’s been incredible to see their interest in reading soar. To keep that momentum going, I’d love to clear out the books on my list.
If you’re able, please consider grabbing a high-priority book—it will go straight into the hands of my students and help fuel their love of reading.
Thank you so much for your support!

Hi, I’m about to be the full-time future in January since our 5th grade English teacher is leaving to pursue other dreams. So she’s taking all her main organizers and other knick-knacks. Here’s my Amazon list so I can get a little bit of help. I am only a TA which means I only have TA paychecks and I am a single mom so this is very hard.

I’m making a big shift in my teaching career for the 2025–2026 school year! After several meaningful years teaching K–5 elementary music, I’ll be transitioning into a new role as a High School Special Education teacher. This is a big change, but one I feel incredibly passionate about. I’m eager to support and advocate for students with diverse learning needs and help them thrive both academically and personally. I know there will be a lot to learn along the way, and I’m reaching out to everyone for support, as I’m completely starting over. Thanks in advance for walking with me on this exciting new journey and helping to support it.

Hello! I am the Assessment Coordinator in a rural 7th-12th grade school in Florence, Colorado. We administer about 20 various assessments ranging from district assessments to college credit assessments. With 600 students in both middle school and high school taking a variety of assessments throughout the year, it would be extremely helpful if we had an assessment specific inventory. Currently, we rely on leftover materials, a small school budget, a small grant associated with our AP exams, and teacher generosity of allowing us to borrow materials, such as calculators during testing. Any little bit helps in streamlining and organizing school assessments, and is greatly appreciated.

I’m Miss Serenity, and I’m so excited to be stepping into the role of lead teacher in our Infant classroom later this month! To help create a fun, engaging, and nurturing environment for our little learners, I’ve put together a classroom registry filled with tools, books, and materials that will support play-based learning, creativity, and growth.
Each item on this list has been thoughtfully selected to enhance our daily experiences—from sensory play to early literacy and social-emotional development. Whether it’s a small classroom essential or a hands-on learning tool, every donation makes a meaningful impact.
If you feel called to give, your generosity will directly support a room full of curious minds and big hearts. Thank you so much for considering a contribution—your support truly means the world to both me and my future students.

Our students have been really getting into racket sports and we need some new equipment for them in order to play, especially when we have two classes at the same time. I added a few other things that need to be replaced as well as a couple classroom supplies. Anything helps!

Here is my list! Thank you for considering my classroom. My children are so eager to begin a new year. I teach in a high needs and a high ACES district, so you will notice snacks, dolls, books, and blocks on my list. Connecticut has implemented play centered classrooms for grades K and 1. The materials I have requested align to CT state standards for literacy, social studies, and science. There are also social and emotional items for a meditation corner and a fun photo sticker maker so the students can make stickers for their writing journals and so they can attach to their “great things” to talking about at home newsletter that goes home each week with the children every Monday. Thanks again for taking time to look!
