Wish they took discover. Can you use discover in store?

    • Scarlet B

Last time I was there (a year ago, maybe), it was still only Visa a far as credit or debit cards go.

      • cpnfreebies

Visa credit card only. Debit comes from your personal checking account. Debit cards can be any logo because you have to enter a PIN number.

        • Natty

They wouldn’t let me use my MasterCard debit.

    • Shelly

I had been able to use my Discover card @ Costco online shopping but not @ store

      • lenin1991

…and you can buy Costco Cash cards online with Discover, and use those in store.

  2. Sylvia

The previous years it was great to shop at Costco, items on sale, samples. Now there are no samples anymore and barely anything on sale. Bulk items aren’t cheaper anymore. Shoppers are not renewing their memberships.

    • Sophie

Thanks for the heads up. One is opening up by me, but I won’t be joining now.

      • Tracy

I never went to Costco because of samples and I get great items on sale there still and see plenty of bargains on bulk items. And what source do you have to say that shoppers are not renewing their membership to even post such a thing? I don’t know a single person who didn’t or isn’t including me. Sophie – don’t not not get a membership because of a post from one person that from what I experience there is not true except for the samples. Do it you won’t regret it. Love Costco!!

        • Sophie

Thanks Tracy. Will keep an open mind!!

        • jimnchriswoods

Every adult head of household in our family has dropped.Costco in favor of shopping smaller local businesses. Thats 12 memberships & many of our neighbors in our 356 home HOA are doing same.

    • DebJ

The previous years didn’t include a global pandemic. Lots of companies are struggling financially and we’re all doing the best we can considering all that’s going on. For customers to continue shopping and giving them their business helps tremendously.

    • Christen

Well that is 100% incorrect! Costco has been one of the few thriving companies during this pandemic! Their stock is as high as it’s ever been. People are coming in more than ever to get a new/renew membership. I work in that dept there, so I know… Costco continues to have sales on hundreds of items in store each month. They never mark up merchandise more than 14%. They make most of their money from memberships. Their prices are amazing! People just don’t take the time to realize that while the same item at Walmart may be a few $$ less, you’re getting 2-3xs more. You are always welcome to look around before joining. Please do so before listening to those who don’t know what they’re talking about. And fyi…they still have samples, just covid friendly now.

      • Sylvia

“Costco continues to have sales on hundreds of items in store each month” “You are always welcome to look around before joining”. You sound like the Costco marketing team. In my area regular grocery stores are cheaper than Costco, there are very less food item on sale, many vitamins on sale but we don’t need these every month.

      • jimnchriswoods

Shop local small businesses & don’t get sucked into the big.box store mentality. Do you really need 3 bottles of ketchup in order to save 2 cents an ounce? Watch your local grocery sales & compare ounce to ounce prices. Use coupons-they’re everywhere. Corporate greed folks, they’re doing you no favors-its all about their bottom line.

        • Brit

I agree, I support small businesses for majority of purchases now. Covid has been an extremely difficult year for them, so I’d rather help those places out than bug box stores where my food will be stale by the time I finish anything.

    • nancypantcy

Agreed. Way less sales than before (the ones marked with yellow highlighter), which I always look for. I think I’m gonna skip Costco next year

  3. Leslie Stewart

This deal is a scam according to Costco! Was just in the store and the service desk checked with corporate!!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

SO sorry for any confusion. Were you able to use the code above? I still find it to work for me as listed in the steps, in the post. Hoping this helps!

    • Sarah

Unfortunately I think you are correct. I signed up for a Costco membership several weeks ago with this promotion and have not received a thing ☹️

  4. Joanne C.

does the $25 off $250 online purchase have an expiration date?

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

I’m not able to find that in the terms and conditions.

    • Kshindler

Mine says January 31, 2020… but it was purchased about 4 months ago so I am unsure if there’s a different date for newer memberships.

  5. Loren

Don’t count on any gift card being mailed to you, Costco will not help you, since they claim these offers are third party. My promised $30 gift card never was sent.

That is fine, I will return the membership and get my membership fee refunded.

    • nancypantcy

Yep, same thing happened to me. I never got my promo items. I asked customer service but hubby is primary on account so they had to talk to him and we could just never coordinate so I dropped it and still kept membership. But I won’t renew

    • Kshindler

I received mine – it just took a little longer than expected.

  6. Cat0289

I did a deal posted last year that was through Groupon. I was so excited about it, but had problems from the beginning. Never received any of the coupons or cash card that was promoted. Costco did honor sending me some coupons but the ones offered as part of the promotional package were so much better. I did get the cash card eventually, but the whole thing took multiple phone calls, lots of explaining and waiting on hold. Will not renew my membership this year. I tend to frequent Sam’s Club more.

    • Laura

Exact same thing happened to me with Sam’s club. Did the deal thru groupon. it was a waste of money. I was highly disappointed.

  7. tracypacola-halloran

Does Costco having a free shipping option like Sams premium membership? I don’t live close to either location so the free shipping is essential.

    • Kshindler

I see some items are free shipping… the others are $3.

  8. Sallys

A new Cosco is opening near me so I am trying this deal. I have done similar deals through groupon for sam’s club for the past two years, it was a bit of a hassle to get the free giftcard and online bonus amount but the deal did come through for those deals. At least it did for me. I am vigalently going to watch for the gift card and email for bonus. If it does not come through oh well, I believe it will be a good value overall. Costco has a LOT of good deals, and this way I do not have to tag along with someone else, I can go at my leisure. also now I can partake in the great deals posted here!

  9. mdub

Does anyone know if you are listed as a household cardholder on someone else account can you apply for this deal as a new member?

    • lenin1991

That does not work. Unless you use a new address as well.

  10. Marie

Hey, $20 for a membership is an awesome deal, just by itself. You’ll more than get this back if you use the Costco gas pumps. We save a lot by buying gas there.

    • Marie

Nevermind, I membership is regular price, but offers you a $20 cash card. I thought it was $20 for the membership, which made me extremely jealous.

  11. Beth P

OT Did anyone do the deal for 50 masks on Amazon that ended up being free? I can’t find the post now.

  12. BuffaloGal

Finally getting a Costco 20 mins from me!!! Only problem is it’s going across the border in Niagara Falls, Canada. I miss you, 🇨🇦! Stupid pandemic!

  13. polaris

will this deal work with mastercard cc? it still accepted my promo code….

  14. Elizabeth

Didn’t work for me, with my membership expired over 18 months ago. “Promo code conditions have not been met. See promo code details or remove code to continue checking out.” Too bad.

  15. Sherylann a Wentworth

Costco has the best and freshest meat! The also have the best pre made meals, cant go wrong with Costco!!

  16. Sarah

Has any one actually gotten their $25 coupon emailed to them? I signed up with this deal and have not gotten my code. It is past the 7-10 business days they said it would take. I have been watching my email like a hawk ☹️

    • Polaris

Same here. Who can we call to verify this bundle?

    • Daphne Wong

Any update ? Please let us know if you received your coupon or is this is a scam.

      • Sarah

I have not received the coupon code or the gift card. I am disappointed in a trusted site like Hip2Save for posting what appears to be bogus deal.
