**DIY Tumbler Gift Ideas | Perfect For Any Holiday
Stash some goodies inside an insulated cup for easy DIY tumbler gift ideas!
Looking for an easy and thoughtful DIY gift idea?
Consider gifting items inside an insulated tumbler for a practical and creative DIY gift idea! The best part is you can customize the items inside each tumbler to create a really personalized gift. These can be small items that fit inside the cups and even gift cards if desired.
This idea can work for any holiday or occasion. These gifts are appropriate for Christmas, birthdays, teachers, neighbors, hostess gifts, etc. Plus they can be done at any price point utilizing affordable items from Dollar Tree, the grocery store, drugstores, or even big-box retailers.
Who wouldn’t love to receive a quality tumbler?
Our Hip2save team loves these Ozark Trail brand tumblers from Walmart! They’re high quality, inexpensive, and keep drinks cold (or warm) for HOURS! In fact, I once tested my much more expensive YETI vs Ozark Trail in this previous post, and the Ozark performed just as well!
These tumblers ROCK!
You can choose a larger 32 oz. size tumbler or a smaller 22 oz. tumbler, and both are perfect for hot coffee and cold drinks. They really are such great quality and make a perfect gift even by themselves, however, it’s fun to add some goodies inside to create a really fun, personalized gift!
Here are 5 EASY themes to inspire your tumbler gift ideas!
1. For the Unicorn Lover
Unicorns are still super popular right now! I love this idea of filling a tumbler with small unicorn-related goodies, readily available at lots of retailers and at different price points. This can be fun for a tween or anyone who enjoys unicorns!
Please note, while these cute items in the images shown were found in-store at Walmart, you can shop for similar items online at various retailers.

2. For the Coffee Lover
Coffee is LIFE! ☕️ Fill a tumbler with K-cups, coffee creamers, mini flavored syrups, or anything else to feed a coffee obsession! I even threw in a milk frother to make the perfect DIY latte!

3. For the Outdoors Enthusiast
If you know someone who loves being outdoors, how about gifting some outdoor and camping supplies!? Sometimes it’s hard to DIY a gift for guys, and this can be a great option for the right person!
In this DIY tumbler gift:
4. For the Teacher
Teachers are special and are absolute heroes! If you need a quick and easy gift, you can fit quite a few school supplies and gift cards into a tumbler!
In this DIY tumbler gift:
- Amazon Gift Cards
- Ticonderoga Pencils
- Paper-Mate Mechanical Pencils
- Hi-Liters
- Elmer’s School Glue
- Scissors
5. For the Hot Chocolate Fan
A hot chocolate-themed tumbler would be a perfect smaller dollar gift item during the holidays. Just pick up a smaller 22 oz. tumbler and fill it with items to make hot chocolate! It’d be fun to throw in some Christmas-related chocolates and candies, too. All of these goodies are actually from Dollar Tree, so you don’t have to spend a lot!

Wrap up your tumbler gift!
I wrapped my tumblers with all the goodies inside using clear cellophane wrap. It adds such a nice-looking presentation! Tie the top with ribbon, secure a gift tag, and your gift is ready to go!

Super cute idea … I bought a ton of these when walmart had the clearance sale on these for 2.00 and 3.00 each but now they are back to normal price.
These Ozark cups are amazing!
That’s so great! And I agree ❤️
Love this post…thanks! 🙂
oh I’m so glad- thanks!
Love it ❤️ I remember getting this idea from one of the Hip2saver here 😊 I actually do these with Starbucks plastic reusable cups (only $2 per cup) and fill it with chocolates (which of course I get it from seasonal clearance!) and add a gift card for Teachers. Also did mini “spa set” (face masks, manicure set, mini bath bomb) for girl friends 🥰
Oh that is so fun! Love those ideas!

where do you get Starbucks reusable cups for $2.00?
You can find them at any Starbucks but the availability might be limited. I’ve seen them at Walmart in the bundle of 3-4 cups too. Hope you can find them 🙂

Thank you
I love them all!!
Love this idea!
Yay thanks Cassie!!
Rural King also runs specials on their tumblers for $5.00 leading up to Father’s Day. They have great colors and work just as well as the Yetis & Ozarks. Also, if you have a unicorn lover-the unicorn frappe is available at Walmart for around $1.50.
Ha! I went through the whole thing thinking “that’s cute, but where’s the lid?” It all came together in the end 😂 Great ideas! Thank you
Oh ha – thanks April! Yes the lid is important! <3
❤️❤️❤️❤️ these are absolutely adorable!! Great idea!!
Thanks so much!
These are THE best cups. I’m obsessed with them. Very cute idea and very reasonably priced gift idea!
Yes!! And thanks so much ❤️
Absolutely LOVE these ideas!! Thank you! You’re so clever Lina!
I’m so glad! And thank you so much Michelle!
AND stock up at Bath & Body Works for gift wrapping bags; I ask for one for each item whenever I buy something so have them on hand for gifts like this. Sometimes they just give me a handful! Usually I use my own ribbons although they give me those too.
Oh nice tip! Thanks Tracey!
I’ve done this with Tervis tumblers as well 😁
My daughter did this for teacher cups with custom cups she makes. The custom cups make it more personal. Go see her cups at Jewelz Cups and Crafts on Facebook.
Love these ideas!! These will be perfect with the Starbucks holiday cup 6 packs I bought 2 weeks ago thanks to H2S! And I have found cellophane wrap and bags at Dollar Tree.
Great idea and perfect timing as I was just trying to figure out some way to make a smaller basket!!! Thanks so much for the idea!!!!
I LOVE doing these. I try to personalize as well.
I found a very cute tinkerbell mug at marshalls for a gift for a b day party I’m attending Saturday, whom is a tinkerbell fan.
I’ve been to Walmart, marshalls, Ross, Burlington and five below and found NOTHING match it.
Any tips?
Does Dollar tree sell any kind of plastic tumblers that might work? I guess it doesn’t have to have a lid on it…
I have seen some plastic tumblers at my Dollar Tree. Some are seasonal near the front of the store. Others are in the back with other kitchen cups, dishes etc. Hope that is helpful!
Thank you! I actually just left dollar tree and was able to find some summer themed clear tumblers that I plan to use. I know it’s not summer but I’m stuffing a pair of relic sunglasses that I bought new from Goodwill inside tissue paper inside the mug. If I can find el cheapo candy to drop down in them, all the better, lol. I LOVE this idea and will be buying more tumblers in the future when they’re cheap as a great quick, themed gift.
I have a super-cheap cup suggestion. This week I got a package of 12 Ball Aluminum Recyclable Holiday Cold Drink Cups for only $2.50! There’s a space on the cup for writing the recipient’s name.
The box says it’s for “limited extended use,” and the cups are 16 oz.
Plenty of room for gift cards and/or small goodies.
Always enjoy these gift suggestions. Thanks for all you do!
Oh how wonderful! Great idea!
