Wow, thanks! I got the pack with the power strip 🙂
Awesome! You’re so welcome!
I didn’t see anything for Alabama ☹️
No California ☹️
I always knew that Tennessee wasn’t eco friendly lol 😝. Our recycling truck comes once a month! 😱
TN here also. Mine recycle truck comes once a week and leaves most of it. Paper, cardboard boxes. Idk. It all should qualify. Funny you mention that 🤣
I’ve watched my trash truck pick up both my trash bin & recycle bin and dump them both in the same truck. Have seen them do it twice. I don’t recycle much anymore since then.
No garbage or recycling pick up in my part of TN. I’ve been at the county landfill dropping off kitchen garbage and have seen them dump recycling with the regular garbage.
I have also seen the garbage truck drivers dump both my recycling and my trash cans into the same garbage truck on trash day here in the Chicago suburb of Schaumburg, Illinois! Makes me wonder why I separate the recycling….
We received ours in the mail a few days ago. I LOVE it. The power strip is awesome and the kids even got a few night lights that are energy conserving ❤️ Definitely worth it’s if it’s available to you.
How cool! I love those night lights! We received a few in an energy saving kit a few years back and they still work SO well! Thanks for sharing with us, Brittp!
National Grid at least for upstate New York has a marketplace where they have items with instant savings like light bulbs, shower heads, power strips, and more for reduced prices.
Awesome! Thanks for the tip! Good to know!
Does DP&L have one? Dayton Power and Light in Ohio?

Thank you
Anything for central PA?
There are a lot of free goodies included in the Evergy package. I am not sure all of the places Evergy Energy serves, but this link will work for the Kansas City, Missouri area.

Thanks, Melisa!
SMECO in Southern Maryland had an Energy-Efficiency kit: https://smecoeekit.icfwebservices.com/enroll?_ga=2.57169122.957421155.1568117146-1380493901.1568117146
They also have a lot of instant rebates on bulbs at a lot of the hardware stores around.
SWEET! Thanks for the heads up!
Don’t see any in Arkansas.
I was able to score a free Nest E thermostat and a Philips Hue starter kit last year with the WI focus on energy program. It seems like they run different deals yearly. I have the page bookmarked so that I remember to check every so often.
Great idea, Megan! Thanks for commenting!
This is so great! Does anyone know of anything for AZ?
Anything for Iowa?
Found this: https://www.midamericanenergy.com/energy-efficiency-kits
Thanks a bunch for sharing the link!
Barbie, yes, as someone posted, MidAmerica Energy has it. We got a surge protector (nice one) and 2 LED light bulbs, and our son with MidAmerica also living in a different area, got the surge protector, 2 light bulbs, a shower head, and an aerator for a faucet.
I guess Arizona does nit participate
Looks like ComEd in Illinois has kits available only to low income households.
Did anyone see anything from Pepco?
This isn’t exactly a kit but seems like something useful from Pepco: https://homeenergysavings.pepco.com/smart-home-pilot-program
Thank you, Entergy, for this wonderful energy-saving program! (I’m in Arkansas)

GREAT score! Thanks, Jennifer!
Anything for Kentucky?
Duquesne Light (western PA) also offers a free kit if you do their free online energy audit! We got two nightlights, a power strip, and 10 lightbulbs for free!
Anything for Texas?
Tampa Electric has a free kit too. Online it shows you only get it if you qualify for a couple special programs they offer, but at some point I filled out a form at an event where they had a booth to get one in the mail. So if you have TECO, it’s worth asking even if you don’t qualify for the programs. https://www.tampaelectric.com/residential/saveenergy/educationandoutreach/
Thanks, boltsmom!
Thank you! DP&L Ohio
Thanks! I got one!
You are welcome!
In northeastern ohio we have First Energy. go to ohioenergykit.com and you get 2 3-way led lights, 3 led night lights, a powerstrip and more.
Hi I live in Ohio also and it won’t let me enter my account number? It says it’s to long
I had a similar problem entering my account number, so I called Nicor Gas in Illinois. They said to omit the hyphens, then the account number worked.
DTE Energy in Michigan has a program where you can get a free energy bridge for 6 months. Shows actual watts used at any given moment. My electric bills are now half what they were a year ago from just being aware of what is plugged in or on at any given moment.
Idaho power is awesome. We have gotten a couple of the energy saving kits, and they’re pretty neat. They were also giving away free shade trees last year.
It won’t let me it says account number is to long? Any suggestions
Hmm, are you using a mobile device? If so, maybe try switching to desktop view. If not, be sure to try a different browser. Hoping that might help!
Our daughter gave our son and us these for Christmas they were selling them at the mall for a decent price she said, it came with 2 smart lights and also the power strip. We’re in MA
Nothing is free.
I’m sure we pay for this in a fee somewhere
Exactly what i was thinking.
Anyone know if Teco (Tampa, Florida) has a program?
https://wattsmartsavings.net/free-starter-kit/
Thanks so much! I have added that link to our list above!
How about New York Long Island?
This kit has a lot. My local electric company provides 4 light bulbs, a faucet aerator, and a shower head.
Thank you so much! I just scored one, along with shower aerator head & other cool stuff from Idaho Power as well!!
any for Northern VA? Specifically NOVEC.
Minnesota Power offers a shower head saving kit if anyone is a MN power customer!
In the mail with my bill I received an energy efficiency kit offer from First Energy, 2 three way lights ,3 led night lights , 1 filter whistle, 1, 7outlet strip. I,ve tried the phone number can,t get through or find the online order, can you help
Oh bummer! Maybe wait a bit and call back again later today or tomorrow. Hoping you can speak with someone soon!
In the disclaimer, it says, “The costs of this program may be recovered through customer rates in accordance…”
Anyone have any luck determining exactly what they mean by that?
First Energy has free energy efficiency kits.
