Uh Oh—Dozens of Hummus Products Recalled Due To Potential Listeria Contamination
Better check your fridge ASAP!
Pita Pal Foods, LLC announced a recall of 89 different hummus products due to a possible health risk concerning a Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
While it was discovered during an FDA inspection in the manufacturing facility (meaning not in a finished tub of hummus), the company made a voluntary recall to protect customers from any exposure to the tainted product.
Some brands affected include Harris Teeter, Latana, Pita Pal, Reasor’s, Schnucks, & 7-Select. If you’ve recently purchased hummus products and have them on hand, check out the complete list of recalled packages so you don’t ingest any of the harmful spread.
If you have a hummus product within the specified “use by” dates, return it to the original place of purchase for a full refund.
Any questions can be directed to Pita Pal Foods at 832-803-9295 or by email products@pitapal.com.

Thankful I didn’t see Athenos on the list. I can finish my tub! Yah!
Lanthanos is at publix :/
Do they sell this brand at Aldi’s? Anyone know? I have 3 tubs from Aldis unopened in the fridge.
I really like hummus but I stopped purchasing it several years ago due to all the recalls. Now I get it at my local middle-eastern restaurant where it’s made fresh in-house.
