Black Friday is a great time to score a deal on the Nintendo Switch!

The Nintendo Switch gaming system was at the top of last year’s holiday wish list for many kids and adults, and it’s showing no signs of slowing down in 2022! This portable gaming system lets you take your video games on the go and seamlessly continue playing them on your TV.

Last year, Nintendo released the Nintendo Switch OLED model. It includes a 7-inch screen, enhanced audio capabilities, and a more vibrant display. Both the original Switch and the OLED are bound to be hot gift items this year! These models can connect to your TV. For a handheld-only option, consider the Nintendo Switch lite which can be found for under $200.

While it may be challenging to find a Nintendo Switch in stock and on sale at the same time this year, Black Friday is a great time to score an awesome deal! Quite a few of the Black Friday sales have already started, so you’ll want to grab your Switch console now while they’re available!

We’ve rounded up the BEST Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, and new OLED Nintendo Switch Black Friday deals of 2022 so you can save more money on your shopping this holiday season.

Even with the recent release of the new Nintendo Switch OLED, the original Switch is still extremely popular and very much in demand for Christmas 2022. With that in mind, it may be hard to find either of these gaming consoles in stock or on sale. You may want to consider purchasing the Switch as soon as you see it back in stock at your favorite retailer, as they’re sure to sell out quickly!

For what it’s worth… we got the mid grade Switch a few months ago (the $299 one) and it has been so much fun! We hook it up to the tv and play games together as a family and it’s a blast! My 3 kids also take turns playing on it individually also or sometimes 2 play together etc! If you used to enjoy playing Wii together- you’ll love this also! 🥰

    • Laura

Do you split in the joy con so two kids can play at one time? Or did you get another joy-con?

      • Kana

        This is my question too!

      • dangergirl0182ss

We do both. The kids don’t mind using the single joy con. It’s a little difficult for large adult hands.

      • Bzroses13

We got some cheap wireless remotes off Amazon (I think they were around $15 each and look like an Xbox controller) so we could all play 🥰

    • galaxy781

It depends on the game. Different games have different options for multiplayer game play. On the back of every game it will tell you the options of how each game can be played. Some games are single player only.

  2. MrsG

I’d love to see a post for switch games!

Hey Mrs G!!! We are on the lookout and hope to spot some deals soon!!!🤞

      • Amy F;)

        yes please! 🙂

  3. Kanani

I was hoping there would be actual sales! These prices are the regular prices on the Nintendo website.

    • reneecamello

Agreed, I got excited, but they are the same everyday prices.

    • reneecamello

Agreed, these prices are the same as they are everyday.

    • Claudette (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Kanani! Many of the best Nintendo Switch Black Friday deals come in the form of a bundle! We will keep an eye out for them!💕

      • Kanani

        Good to know! Thank you!

  4. 4boysohmy

GameStop has great prices on their used and refurbished. They also offer a 10% military discount in store.

  5. galaxy781

There aren’t deals they are just regular prices. The package deals aren’t w good deal unless you’re just desperate to buy one. Wireless controllers stink and cases are available everywhere for not very much money. SD cards are also easy to come by fairly cheap even the brand name Sandisk. There was a switch game post. There are only a few big box stores that will have switch game sales and they’ve posted some of their sales already.

  6. jen

Fyi- Cheap wireless controllers don’t last long. We have gotten 4 different ones from Amazon and they lasted about 3 months. The wired ones have lasted the longest, we got 2 last Christmas and they’re still good. We got the Power A brand from Best Buy. They’re cool too, they have different designs. I also saw a Nintendo brand wired one for $35 at Target and got that this yr as a present. The joy con’s are just so expensive, and can malfunction easily too. So we don’t mind the wired ones. The cord length is decent too.

    • Kanani

Do the wired controllers just plug into the Switch? And are just for certain games?

      • jen

Yes they just plug into the console. Not the handheld part that you take off. So it’s def for at home gaming. And we have used them for all of his games:)

  7. Nanny

Can someone tell me the main difference with the switch lite? (senior citizen grandma here). My 6 old grandson said he wants a “switch” for Christmas. He has a kids fire tablet now, Do you have to order games separately to play it? I am just trying to figure out the best one for his age. He has never had video player before.

    • Sara

A regular Switch (and OLED Switch) can be connected to a TV, or held in hand to play. A Switch Lite can ONLY be played in hand and CANNOT be connected to a TV. Both systems use the exact same games though. 🙂 (And side note, a Nintendo Switch works totally different than a Fire tablet. A Fire tablet is like an iPad.)

      • Nanny

        Thank you for your explanation!

  8. Joe

Nintendo is going to have a Black Friday System Bundle which will include the regular switch with blue and red joycons and a Digital version of Mario Kart 8 and 3 months of Nintendo Switch online membership for one individual (not the family plan) all for 299$. A list of retailers should appear soon on that webpage. Heres a link to the webpage on the official Nintendo website. It also lists a few other black friday deals (on select games and accessories) they will be having at different retailers.

BTW that black friday switch bundle is a good bundle because it comes with mario kart 8 plus online membership which is needed to access online features of the switch and to play online and also Mario Kart 8 retails for 60$ and rarely ever goes on sale. The other bundles that other stores have are pretty worthless because they just throw in junk accessories to raise the price of the bundle. But this Black friday bundle from Nintendo pretty much has the needed essentials and no extra junk thrown in and is still for MSRP! But ofc you will definitely want to get a Micro SD card to go along with it and maybe an extra controller if you have multiple kids and also a 12 month Nintendo switch online membership since the one included is only 3 months.

  9. Ron

Anyone seen any deals on wireless controllers let us know. Thanks so much.

    • Claudette (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Ron!!! I do see some that will go on sale the on the 24th at Gamestop!!! Check out our spreadsheet for all the deals here.❤️

  10. MN Mom

Wow, I follow H2S religiously and love you guys but what a pocket reach for you. These aren’t deals, they are the regular price. I think it’s sad to use the trust of your organization to gain money from your affiliate links by leading your followers to believe these are Black Friday deals. They are, in fact, the prices they have been all year- the regular price. Pretty shameful.

    • Chelsey (Hip Sidekick)

Hey there, MN Mom! Thank you so much for your feedback. We’re going to be updating this post today with deals as we spotted some from Target and Sam’s, as well as keeping our eyes open for any additional deals we can find. If you spot a great deal, please let us know and we’ll add it in!

  11. Kim

Thanks H2S for doing the work with the links to all stores! In my area a lot of stores are out of them in person! Holding out for a deal! From what I’ve seen there aren’t really sales, just bundles. Which is fine!

I am on the lookout for OLED RED & BLUE switch bundle. It seems they all include the white version, which isn’t good for the kiddo.

Also hope for some sales on easy games for 5-6yo!
Any suggestions what I should look for? I am thinking Luigi mansion, lego, Mario, sonic.

    • Claudette (Hip Sidekick)

You’re most welcome, Kim!! I ask our team about games for 5-6 year olds and they suggested Minecraft and Mario Kart. Hope that helps!💗

  12. mo

Will Amazon have the Bundle deal?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi there! These are the current deals we’re seeing! We’ll keep a lookout for any others that pop up! ❤️

  13. coupon6167

What does Joy con mean and is there a difference between the colors?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Those are the the primary game controllers for the Nintendo Switch console. ❤️
