“Bought for 15-year-old daughter who is a trainee lifeguard so swimming weekly, or more, is a must. She reports that it fits well, feels comfortable, allows her good range of motion, feels secure and most important of all – allows her to forget she has her period. She has two pairs of the bikini bottoms too that are sometimes worn with a top or under a normal swimsuit.” – Wendy

You may have heard of Savvi Wear as they were recently featured in both Glamour and Cosmopolitan. Of the leakproof swimwear available on Amazon, Savvi Wear is among the best!

“I am so happy to say that these worked amazingly!! She was able to spend all day on the beach and not have to worry a single time about leaking. They’re also extremely easy to clean (thank God). I literally just throw them in the washer with a few towels or something. They come out looking brand new. I cannot recommend these enough!” – Burke
Don’t like tampons? Try these great alternatives!
Anyone have experience with these? My daughter has been begging me for a pair. Is it really true that you can wear these without any pad or tampon? I just can’t imagine that this works.
Yes. You have to watch which brand you order. Some look like you don’t have to wear one, but will leak. I bought my daughter a pair of bottoms from Ruby Love and they work great!
I bought bottoms from the Knix teen line for my 10 year and I’m so happy I did. They were worth the price and she has needed them several times this summer. She’s never had a problem using them. I will definitely purchase each summer.
Got one by Knix and struggled to pay the price but it was absolutely worth it. She has been able to wear it tons with no leaks in multiple situations. Definitely worth the comfort for them when they’re not ready for tampons.
Thanks for your input, Brittany! I’m sure it will be helpful for other readers to know. Sounds like it was well worth the extra money.
Never knew these existed! Would’ve been a game-changer for me as I can not use tampons.
I wish I’d had this in my teen years!
Does anyone have feedback on Rubylove panties?
So, how does this work? Blood doesn’t leak into a pool? Pads leak. So what keeps the liquid in place?
Eliz- I was always told that bleeding stops in cold water. To be honest, I never googled it. This is what my mother told me when I was a child.
Got my 11yr old the Ruby Love one piece black swimsuit with a pair of black separate swim bottoms! She swims on swim team and she’s not comfortable to want to use tampons so these are the answer! She feels great in it and can focus on her swim practice or swim meet and not miss a beat being on her period. The RUBY Live suit I got her can hold up to 3 tampons worth just the suit on its own; then you can also add an additional non-absorbent pad they sell that can go inside the swim suit lining if you want more.
That’s great to hear that this is working so well for your daughter!
