We love Philo! We locked in at the $16/mo before it went to $20/mo this Spring. I find the guide easy to navigate, you can save shows and then access new episodes with ease on the main page.

How cool! Thanks for letting us know how easy it has been to use! We sure appreciate the feedback!

    • MrsGarfield

Do they have news channels? I couldn’t see any listed?

      • Nicole

No local news channels with Philo

  2. Jessica

We also are locked in on the $16.00 month plan and love it! Has all the channels we need and still some we could do without! But I can watch my Hallmark movies, so I’m happy!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

That’s awesome to hear, Jessica! 🙌

I just signed up this weekend. $20 a month with pretty much every channel this single old lady watches other than her locals so a perfect fit. ( I prefer my locals via digital antenna).

    • marnieelisabeth

me too hd antenna get my local and maybe 20 cable channels free. So this is great. I miss my cable but not the prices and this has great channels!!!

  4. Sandra

Thanks, I just wish they had my local channels. I’d love to just pay $20 a month for all the stations we like. 🙂

  5. MekaRTR

FYI, no ESPN with this service. You can subscribe to ESPN service through ESPN but you won’t have access to some shows and live sports.

I just signed up last week! I hate when stuff like this happens! Plus I am not a big fan of Philo…the commercials…oh the commercials. Plus some of those commercials are pretty risque for littles in the house. Talking about condoms, sex and other things that are just not appropriate for kiddos. They wonder why our society is the way it is. Philo doesn’t have my business.

    • Tabitha

So basically……just like regular cable. I understand that this is similar to having tv. You cant control live tv nor this. If it bothers you, move on and continue. I watch Philo with my kids so I can mute or distract them when something inappropriate comes on. Just saying, we can’t control everything. I appreciate and love the service. My family has been without cable/tv for 12 years. This allows us to watch tv again.

      • animity

Actually you can control what comes into your house.

    • Misti

I actually appreciate you’r comment. My husband hates any commercials on streaming sites. I will pass on this deal.

    • Patty

Regular TV talks about condoms, Viagra, tampons, gays and HIV. You can’t run from the real world!!

  7. animity

The commercials are horrible with Philo.

    • cath

Thanks for the warning. We’ll stick with Pureflix.

  8. Kelli

Has anyone tried Frndly? That’s $5.99/month with 7 days free, they have hallmark I believe (which is really the only extra channel I need from what we are already getting with Hulu.

  9. Katrina

You can also download the channel apps onto a Fire Stick or similar device and log in with Philo. We watch Discovery, Food Network, Nick Jr, etc. through the apps.

Curious what service people use to get the full range of network and cable channels. We just signed up for YouTube TV (free 2 week trial) and love it so far. Unfortunately, we don’t get any antenna channels at our house, so we’d like a service that includes local TV/news and many, like Philo, don’t offer that. For $50/month, YouTube TV is still pricey, but we can share the login with family and it includes DVR. It also includes ESPN and a TON of other sports channels that my family loves. I’m just glad to finally give up the overpriced and non-transparent cable company. Thanks for any input!

We tried this for a month during the summer. It was fine, but it did not work well with our internet (buffering) and also it did not work with our Chromecast, so I had to oddly attach my laptop to our TV in order to stream. At least we got to try it for such a long period of time before any cash outlay.

  12. Kathy

Will this work if I don’t own a smart tv but I have amazon fire stick?? Thank you

    • Tabitha

Yes. We stream through our firestick.

      • Kathy

        Thank u!

  13. Erin Woulfe

It’s got hallmark and kid shows, what more do you want? We dropped cable. We also have YouTube tv as well. Water cheaper then cable! You can ‘Dvr’ all episodes of your shows, no limits!

  14. Lisa Oneill

It didn’t work for me and I called and they wouldn’t give it to me only
    7 days! Poor customer service!!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

DARN! I still find the offer to apply for me as I click through. Maybe try again in a different browser Or device. Hope that helps!

    • Patty

      It’s only a 7 day free trial

  15. Tljestus

Just signed up and says coupon expired😩

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hmm, maybe try again as I still find code FYE to be valid. Hoping it works for you soon!

      • Michelle

Where does the code go for the trial? I din;t see a spot when I enter my payment information.

        • Michelle

          Nevermind. I figured it out!

        • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh cool! Thanks so much for letting us know!

  16. Angela Smith

Soooo, after the 7 day trial period we can cancel? I was under the impression that you got 7 days instead of 2 days before you gave your debit card info. That’s the only reason I signed up. I just need a and e for Wednesday night, America’s Top Dog.
