My daughter got a cutetito last Christmas and she still plays with it. It is a super cute idea.

  2. krystal

I’m not sure why but my target had the kindikids on clearance already. Not sure if they just dont have space but I grabbed a couple thinking they are super cute.

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks, krystal! We will look for those!

  3. J.H.509

My nephew’s name is Tito. So we already have a Tito. LOL

  5. Momto5

Ugh I’m not ready for Christmas! I have 5 kids, 4 of them are between 2-8, and one 15 year old!

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

      Start early!

    • Nancy

My bank has a Christmas club account. We put a little bit away every week all year long. Christmas is not a surprise. Happens same time every year

This list is underwhelming this year the farting wowee were clearanced out at my store. I think the hatching dragon would have been an awesome idea if they created multiple dragons and you didn’t know which one you would hatch from the movie.

    • Emma

      where were they clearanced?

  7. Abby

Not too impressed with this year’s list. 🙁

  8. Cg

I have no ideas what to get my 9 year old daughter. She’s past toys for the lost part and I’m thinking about “experiences”… movies, broadway show etc… any ideas or suggestions? We’re close to NY so even into Manhattan is an option if anyone has any suggestions I’d be so appreciative

    • 5pink1blue

I have a friend who buys gift cards to different clothing stores and gives them to her daughter. The real present is they spend the day together a few days after Christmas to shop and have lunch. Her daughter loves it and the mom knows she gets more for her $ because everything goes on sale after Christmas .

      • Cg

        Genius!!! Thanks for the idea!

    • MommySpendsLess

My daughter just turned 10 and we’re having the same problem. What are her interests? My daughter and I went on a girls day for her birthday (lunch, shopping, pedicures) it was fun but she LOVED it when my husband took her to Kennedy Space Center. I would have been completely bored but she’s into space and astronomy right now and thought seeing things that had actually been to space was fascinating.
What about annual passes to someplace local that she loves? We rotate between theme parks and currently also have passes to the local science center, which has a lot of cool member perks.
Music/dance/art lessons? Horseback riding? Art museum? What about a weekend at a resort/hotel? Visiting a city just a couple hours away can seem like a special event.
For my daughter’s Christmas present and in lieu of our annual staycation I’m hoping to fly us somewhere snowy for 3-4 nights shortly after Christmas. We’re Floridians so she’s never seen snow. In the next couple years I hope to take her to St. Augustine, Savannah and Charleston, which are 2hr-6hr drives away for us.

Check with your local community college. Mine offers parent and child classes for lots of different areas. If your daughter likes crafts there are tons of craft kits for that age group. Give some “get out of whatever she hates cards” like dishes, cleaning etc. Diaries and journals are a possibility. A great book with a special bookmark. I still have a beautiful jewelry box and a silver mirror I was given at her age. She may be done with toys but she might still like collectible horses. Redecorate with new sheets and bedspread.

      • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

OH my goodness! This totally reminds me of what my son likes! He likes to earn “nope” cards. These are cards he can use to say “nope” to something. He earns them by reaching goals we set. Then he can give me a “nope” card when I ask him to do something (i.e. washing dishes, sweep floors, take shower)! These are one time use cards and we do have limitations, but he loves getting them. Thanks, JD for all the great suggestions!

    • Kaydee

I actually made my own gift cards. They were called mommy gift cards or mommy and daddy gift cards. One year I couldn’t afford Christmas so I made them mommy gift cards. My girls LOVED it! We got Christmas at a 50% discount. Now it’s a family tradition

      • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

Awww! That is so sweet, Kaydee!

  9. allie

The Shopkins Real Littles are adorable! All four of my kids are obsessed. Some of the food boxes are all thin cardboard, which is a bummer, but others are plastic and have held up really well to daily play. Stores in my area are already sold out!

    • Angelina189

I was surprised how quickly they sold out in my area. My daughter and son have been loving the real littles series.

  10. Christy

Thank you for your blog! I check the deals every day and they are so helpful! I wonder if anyone else has the same problem I do with AdChoice that pops up and obscures part of the blog post each time I pull one up? I’m fine with the ads on the right side of the page, but the long one that pops up on the left obscures text even when I try to close it. Maybe just me but I thought I would bring it to your attention. Thanks so much for all you do! Appreciate your site so much and all the work that goes into it!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

You’re welcome, Christy! Thanks so much for the sweet feedback and the heads up on the pop up ads. Those are not something we want on the site. Are you by chance using a mobile device? If this happens again, be sure to send us any details you are seeing, including any possible screenshots or ad links so that we can get those blocked. Thanks so much!

    • Kristi S.

It took me a while to figure out that if I scroll down a tiny “close” box pops up on the bottom of the ad. It won’t show up until I scroll. It is annoying, but it closes the whole ad.

  11. Eva

Anyone know how long the toy ale is at Target? I tried to order the lol Glamper but it’s out of stock. I need it for my daughter’s birthday and a gift card back would be awesome!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

I still find it available form Target now as I click through if you wanted to check again. The $10 gift card offer appears to be valid through 8/31. Hope that helps!

  12. jessawyer

I hadn’t known about the Kindi Kids until my four year old was just given one for her birthday. I think they are the cutest things ever! Now my older daughter wants one.

  13. Samantha

We got to be part of the event that helps choose the toys. It was soooooo much fun. I do highly recommend the Juno elephant, it was so cute. I really think it will become a hard to find item closer to Christmas. Also my kids ages 5 to 10 all liked the alien slime thing, I mean, its slime. The blume dolls were cute too and would make great stocking stuffers. Of course my girls ages 5 and 7 LOVED the Glamper and the pool is removable so it’s easy to dump the water out.

  14. Stephanie Link

Anything LOL is on my girls list. You do amazing jobs saving us tons ! I miss Collin in the evening videos.

  15. shop4mybabies

for those asking about older kids my dear friend gives each of her kids a weekend…each of her 4 daughters gets to chose a weekend that is totally one on one with mom. they plan it, chose where to go, and what to do. Their weekend has a 300$ limit. She is going on nearly 20 years of doing this with her girls as they are now in their late 30’s and they wouldn’t give it up for the world.
