This Reader Created Her Own Pottery Barn “Metal” Pumpkins
Still dusting off some Halloween decorations?
We’re officially days away from Halloween. While it’s right around the corner, it’s never too late for a DIY decor project that’s going to last you for years to come! This week’s Happy Friday reader Elisha got some inspiration from a well-known spooky decoration and rose to the challenge to recreate it herself!
I needed pumpkins that wouldn’t rot and that I could reuse year after year. I really loved the Pottery Barn metal pumpkin lanterns, but they were sooooo expensive.
I ended up making my own from a couple of plastic pumpkins and some spray paint!
What an awesome hack, Elisha! I can’t wait to get crafty this Hallo-weekend and try it out myself! As fun as pumpkin carving can be, pumpkins rot too quickly to even last until Halloween!
If you don’t feel like getting crafty, we have seen similar products from Joann and Michaels that are significantly less than Pottery Barn.

Those look fantastic! Also great for people that have problems with sneaky, stealing squirrels🐿
And hungry deer too!
Nice Job!!

Love them! My fabulous creative daughter!
Wow! So cute!! What a great idea; thanks for sharing!! I wonder what she used to carve such clean lines – an exacto knife? Definitely want to try making this!
Yes, an exacto knife.
Thanks Elisha!!🎃
