This Reader Found a Hidden Disney Treasure at a Garage Sale That Retails for $650!
Love garage sale shoppin’?!
Never underestimate the hidden treasures you can discover at a garage sale! This week’s Happy Friday reader Katie found a stunning limited-edition decor item that would make any Disney fan’s heart swoon.
Garage sales are the best! 🤩My mom found a Beauty & the Beast Disney Art piece (retail $650, a 2012 limited edition). It’s my favorite Disney movie. It was marked $25. Despite putting new batteries in, the lady selling it couldn’t figure out how to turn it on (it lights up in 2 different locations).
She offered it to me for $5 as a display piece, which I gladly paid & did some research when I got home. Turns out that there is a hidden on/off switch (shape of a gold leaf) in the front of the box. I put batteries in, and, voila! It works just fine and is absolutely beautiful!! Saved $20 on the purchase and now have a stunning piece from Disney. Definitely made my Friday!! 🙂
What a score, Katie! This Beauty and the Beast frame is stunning. We’re so happy you figured out how to turn it on because it’s even more beautiful lit up. 😍

Wouldn’t last 10 minutes on my wall.
*eyeroll* ok Sally.
As a Beauty and the Beast fan, I think its a great piece and great find!
I would sell it on eBay.
Awesome find! I found a beautiful quilted Disney comforter at a church tag sale once for $1. I keep it in my car to use as a beach/picnic blanket.
Funny you posted this today as hubby and I just picked up a Tinkerbell Olszewski Gallery of Lights box yesterday off fb for $40 and we listed it on eBay for $200. These bring nice money but not $600. Not sure where that number came from!
I find Disney Parks items at various local thrift stores all the time for 75-90% of the approximate selling price.
So jealous! That is super cute!
As a travel agent who specializes in Disney destinations, I’m both jealous and impressed. 😂 Great find!
It really is, Catherine! Such a treasure for any Disney lover.
