This Reader Transformed Her Kids Bedroom Into a Magical Minecraft Land & Spent Very Little Cash Doing It!

If your kiddo is like mine, they may always wants to redecorate their rooms based on their favorite show or singer of the moment. I still shudder when I think about how much cash and time I spent to create a room of her idol, JoJo Siwa, a few years ago… only for her to realize 6 months later that she isn’t into JoJo anymore OR her bows for that matter (it’s okay; I had only collected about a thousand JoJo bows by then). FYI, I made my daughter “suffer” in her JoJo room for a little longer anyway because I worked my tail off on that room! 😉
I learned from then on that I would never again shell out that kind of money decorating my kid’s room. Now, I am always looking for cool ideas and tips on how to redecorate her room for less. If you’ve been in the same boat, then you are going to love this week’s Happy Friday post!

My daughter wanted to update her bedroom into a Minecraft theme (instead of superheroes – she’s a super cool tomboy!), so I took some blank canvases and painted some wall decor! It was lots of fun, and the kids even helped me do parts of it.
I found an unfinished wood shelf at Hobby Lobby and painted that as well! I also found a “grass” rug on Amazon, and it really adds a lot of Minecraft fun to the whole room.
She loves it, and it was almost free (other than the rug) since I found most of my paints and canvases already in storage!

I went all out and redecorated my boys’ bedroom in a Star Wars theme, including a huge 11 foot wallpaper mural, which was quite an adventure to hang. It looks super cool, but I warned my sons that I will sell the house or die before I’d see that wallpaper come down… 😅
