A trip to the pumpkin farm can be lots of fun! You can bring home lots of cute photos of the kids in a pumpkin patch, but you may also come away with some overpriced pumpkins.

Fortunately, you don’t have to empty your wallet to find a reasonable price on pumpkins! If you and your kiddos love to paint or carve jack-o-lanterns for Halloween, here are a few places where you can buy affordable pumpkins. 🎃

6. Local farms

You may be able to score a deal on a pumpkin from a small local farm. You’re likely to find a better price at a farm that grows other produce and does not operate as a full-fledged pumpkin farm.

Hip Tip: Make the most of your purchase. Bake the seeds, cook the entire pumpkin, or use some of it in a recipe.

Hip Tip: Really want to save on pumpkins? Paint a craft pumpkin instead of buying a real one. You can reuse your decoration year after year!

Thanks for highlighting local farms! I just wanted to add that at roadside stands, you can often get a deal on multiples of pumpkins or other decorations, especially if you’re willing to take a few with flaws (or “character” :-)). I recently filled the back of my SUV with fall decor for much less than I would have paid if I paid per piece just by asking, “What would you charge for all of this?”

Such a great tip, Beverly! Thanks a bunch for mentioning that. ❤️ Sounds like you scored an awesome deal on your fall haul! 🍂🎃
