I’m assuming most of you have heard of e.l.f. cosmetics . If not, they sell very inexpensive cosmetics products–with most of their items priced at just $1! I usually pass up purchasing e.l.f. products because I hate paying the $6.95 shipping they charge! Well, guess what? I have a coupon code to make shipping very inexpensive– $1.98 to be exact! Just go on over here, add at least $20 worth of items to your cart, then use the coupon code 198_SHIP at checkout to score FREE shipping!

I would recommend purchasing 20 fun little $1 items (these make great additions to gift baskets)! Your total with shipping will be just $21.98 + tax!! Not too bad for 20 cosmetics products!

**Please note: If you spend $30, you’ll have the option to score a FREE subscription to OK magazine or instead get a $9.99 rebate. When checking out, below the coupon code box, you’ll see a “Special Customer Benefit” section which offers the free subscription to OK magazine. If you instead want the $9.99 rebate, then check the box that you do NOT want the magazine and click on “Get details about rebate instructions”. This just explains that you will need to send a copy of your order confirmation within 30 days of placing your order.

Just a heads up….you might be wise to save your money and purchase elsewhere. I did this last time it was free shipping and ordered about 7 things. The blush brush sheds all over my face :), the mascara tube broke the first time I twisted the top on, and the eyeliner was dried up. So not a great experience for me. Hopefully, others have better luck….however, I realize you get what you pay for.
Love soooooooooooooooo many other good deals I get here!

thanks for the info. i had been wondering about this…..anyone else have any experience, good or bad?

I bought lots of products from ELF a couple years ago and it was a waste of money. I thought they were surprisingly poor quality overall. They are definitely lower quality than drugstore makeup like cover girl, revlon, etc. They are kind of like the wet n’ wild brand I used to get at the dollar store. Stay away from most of the items. The chapstick/lip balm is really gross, and the brushes do fall out all over the place. I couldn’t use them without hairs falling out with each use. The lip gloss and a bronzer were the only things I was pretty happy with. Those were the only things I actually ended up using from all that I bought. A lot of the stuff looked or felt like kids play makeup and looked really cheap. I am not overly picky about makeup either, as I normally wear drugstore stuff like CoverGirl. I would buy the lip gloss or eyeshadow for a tween girl though, who probably wouldn’t know the difference in quality anyway. 🙂

I have and it and it has been a very good one I recommend this website

There are definitely a few items to avoid from E.L.F.. I did not like the liquid eyeliner and mascara. However, I was pleased with the kabuki (sp?) brush for all over face (have washed mine repeatedly and fluffs up nicely each time) and the eyeshadow brush. The lip glosses are nice and keep in mind….they are $1. I can’t compare them to my favorite Lancome but I love getting a few at a great price to keep in handbags and to put in my niece’s Christmas stocking. My local KMart carries the E.L.F. line and it might be worth it to try a few for no s/h before you do the mega-order. Overall, I like E.L.F. and will continue to get my favorite items again and again.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

        I love their liquid eyeliner

  2. jessica

I stocked up with their last sale got it 75% off the mascara was dried up but all the lip products were great these are gonna be great for the tween party coming up for the kids and gift baskets

    • Kristina

I bought from them about a year ago and I thought it was all very poor quality. I ended up throwing most of it away (about $20 worth)…especially the nail polish- it was very watery and dull. Save your money.

I have bought ELF products at Target. LOVE IT!

  4. Felicia

I purchase ELF frequently. I love their products. As far as the $1 items, I don’t like the lip balm but the lip glosses are nice. Eyeshadows are good (not the ones with four colors tho, get the single colors or the duos IMO). And the brushes I think are fine. None have shed on me at all. I love the eyeshadow brushes and blush brush, also total face brush is fine.

I also purchase the studio and mineral lines which if you read the reviews on the site they are great quality for the very low prices ($3-$6). However w/ these lines I would wait for a 50% code (for instance 50% off studio or mineral not both at the same time).

  5. Heather

I purchased during the last big sale. The nail polish is TERRIBLE! Half of them leaked and those that were “good” were still really poor quality. The lip gloss was fine. I had purchased for favors for my 6 year old’s bday party, so not a big deal (the kids loved them) but I probably will not purchase from there again.

  6. toni

Well…. you get what you pay for!!

  7. palmernicole85

These are being sold at Meijer too… one dollar items

about a month ago, I purchased the 120 products (from the “sugar kiss” line) with the info provided by hip2save…It was a HUGE box–and only around $30!…but as others commented, kind of poor quality. The lip balm in the metal case does not smell nice and many of the packaging was opening up–the plastic was coming off of the cardboard backing so the products were falling out. Not stuff that I would personally use, but DEFINITELY GREAT as PARTY FAVORS for little girls!

  9. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

This stuff has terrible ingredients. I wouldn’t use it if someone gave it all away for FREE.

  10. Emily

I’ve ordered from them before, (about 6 months ago) and I actually didn’t think their products were that bad. I like the bronzer and the all-over-stick. I’ve never tried the mascara from there because I’m very particular about mine, but as for the other things I ordered, I would do it again!

  11. Doris

I LOVE their lip gloss with the SPF and the clear brow gel. I agree that everything else is not that great, but I subscribe to Paula Begoun’s cosmetic review site and her reviews are pretty dead on, so I only buy the stuff she gives a big happy face to. So far I haven’t been dissapointed.

  12. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I never got the rebate last time!! The mascara is HORRIBLE!!! so small and dried up!! It’s like the makeup my mom gave me when I first started wearing makeup. You might find a few good things but there is a reason it’s so cheap!

  13. kelly

i use their foundation stick for under eye circles, liquid eyeliner because i go through that stuff like crazy, and cream blush sticks. it gets the job done–and as far as im concerned, when put on correctly–looks just as good as expensive makeup (i worked at clinique for a couple years, and although i i love their makeup, i dont love their prices!)

  14. Dana

I think thier eye brow brush is nice along with their eyeshadow brushes…If you go through ebates you also get 4% back!

  15. Dana

SHop at home has 7% back

  16. Klippin' Koupons

There is also another coupon code for e.l.f Collin, if you wanna post it. Enter EGMES at checkout to get 10 FREE Mineral Eyeshadows (of your choice) with a purchase of $20. Add a minimum of $20 to your cart AND add the 10 Mineral Eyeshadows that you want, then enter the code EGMES at checkout and it will take off the price for the 10 eyeshadows! Not sure if you could use the shipping for $1.98 code with this one or not.

    • Klippin' Koupons

I just tried to use both coupon codes and you can only use one but I added 20 tubes of lip gloss to my cart and 10 mineral eyeshadows and then used the coupon code EGMES and it took off $30 for the eyeshadow, my total was $28.95 shipped for 30 products!!!

  17. Bella

I,ve ordered before and it took about 2 weeks to recieve it. I placed and order April 1st and i have yet to recieve it. Emailed them and they said it was shipped via ups without tracking #, but if I don’t recieve it in 14 days to let them know. Sounds like they haven’t shipped it. Cause why no tracking #. Some items are ok some aren’t. I found some at Target. The ones I ordered were mineral lipsticks. = [ Hmmmmm

  18. April Torrence

Funny, I just happen to be in the makeup department at Target and most of the ELF products were only $1 or $3. Better deal without the shipping and handling

    • anon

thanks. that’s good to know so I can go try a few.

  19. Lisa

This is off subject, but I got a email from dollar general stores are now taking internet coupons.

  20. Jennifer

poor quality and I never got the rebate they claimed to be sending

  21. bfam

Yep, never got the rebate they were supposed to send either, so don’t count on it!

  22. Felicia

I looked at my Target hoping to find it (they are advertising on the ELF site that they are sold at Target now) b/c as someone mentioned, the prices are better without the shipping charges.

I definitely recommending shopping thru ELF when there are 50% off codes. I have used them for the basic line, they also have them for minerals and studio. IMO this is the best deal. B/c shipping is $6.95 so $1.98 isn’t saving as much as if you spend $20 and get 50% off of that plus pay shipping. Just my 2cents.

I will just reiterate, their makeup is definitely hit or miss but some of it I have really liked. I have the basic eyeshadow brushes which are nice and I love the blending brush. I am going to order the studio brushes b/c these are supposed to be better. I have NEVER experienced shedding so this may be hit or miss. And I have cleaned my brushes several times.

I didn’t care for the all over sticks or blush or face powder. But I have the duo eyeshadow in butter cream and use it almost daily. Also I have the mineral eyeshadow primer and that works pretty well. I also like the single eyeshadow – purple, blue (dark-nice), gold, brown, it really depends on what you like (eye color, etc). I use them often. And I recommend reading the reviews. Also check out the minerals and studio!

I wouldn’t purchase the sugarkiss just from looking at the products tho, JMO.

    HTH 🙂

ELF Cosmetics are made in china, and judging by the majority of the comments here, I wouldn’t touch these cosmetics with a ten foot pole. I don’t want anything from China going anywhere near my eyes/mouth/etc.

    • Joy

I was just going to say that. You can find cheap, quality makeup for the same price that isn’t made in China.

    • SUE

tHIS STUFF IS MADE IN CHINA LOOK AT THE INGREDIENTS BAD NEWS ALL AROUND

  24. Natalie

I have had overall good experiences with ELF products. I especially like their mineral bronzer powder. I used to buy bare minerals, but since I started going to grad school I couldn’t afford it anymore. I think the ELF minerals are very comparable (don’t quite last as long on the face as bare minerals though – but last through a day of work). I also like their eye shadow and concealer brushes. I have several of each. I have not tried mascara nail polish, but have heard they aren’t the best.

  25. Angie

Their stuff was okay, nothing special. My biggest complaint is how many e-mails per day I receive from them. I’ve un-subbed, but they still keeps sending them.

  26. Jeanette

I have several little $1 deals from e.l.f. and love them for party gifts at my kids birthdays…they make great little party bag gifts…like the $1 toe separators and $1 polishes for little girls 🙂 Thanks for posting the deal!!
