    My three free shirts have all been shipped! No charges on my credit card either! The bookbags I ordered are still processing, they might still get cancelled.

      i too ordered the “free” shirts my status says shipped, and I the order still shows 0 dollars and I haven’t been charged anything my fingers are crossed that it worked for me.

    I e-mailed them last night to cancel my order after reading all of these comments. I got a $18 shirt, and FREE shipping so my total was $0.00. I’ve been checking my bank religiously and I still have not been charged. This AM I got an e-mail saying that it was too late to cancel, and it is on it’s way, but I can send it back within 90 days. So, hopefully I don’t get charged! I checked the status and it said it’s on it’s way and should be here 5-6-10. Can’t you take your receipt to the bank if they charged you an amount that you DID NOT agree upon?

      I got the $18 shirt for my toddler daughter with free shipping … my order still shows processing, but $1 pending charge on my credit card. They also told me it was too late to cancel the order since it’s “processing”. Incredibly disappointed w/this situation. Makes me NOT want to shop at The Company Store in the future that’s for sure.

    I received a back order e-mail then an e-mail cancelling 3 of 4 of my items. My total was $7.91 for the 4 items and now they are charging me 17.96 for 1 item. I tried to cancel and they are stating it is too late. I wrote back and stated I would be sending this to my CC company to dispute the charge with a copy of the original order confirmation showing the $7.91 charge for the 4 items. This company needs to be turned into the BBB. It is like they did a bait and switch on everyone.

      I called and they told me when my item (the only one not cancelled) come, to write on it “return to sender” and send it back. When recieved they would credit my card. I hope so.

        I called and was told the same thing. Put “Return to Sender” and when they get the package back all of the charges will come off of my credit card. He informed me that the code had a disclaimer associated with it, that it does not work on sale, clearance, or deal of the day items. Since most people did not see this disclaimer everyone was ordering the same 4-5 items and they are not able to produce that many and get them out.

        For future reference, he said that all codes that The Compnay Store put out do not work on sale, clearance, or deal of the day items.

        THEY TOLD ME THIS BUT THEY SAID THEY WOULD NOT CREDIT THE SHIPPING CHARGE OF $5.99 SO WATCH FOR IT

    I got an email on the 2 orders that I placed. 1st order was $5.95 but now being charged as $13.94. 2nd order was $6.92 now being charged $21.93. I called Customer Service & was told it is too late to cancel order because it is in the warehouse. I was told to not open packages but to put return to sender on box & that my account would be credited less the original shipping charge of $5.95. My understanding is that they are crediting accounts but less the shipping charge for the package to come out to you in the 1st place. No charge for the return shipping but they do not credit back the original shipping charge. I was like come on no way am I paying $12 (shipping of 2 shipments) for items that I am not to use. End result, my order was adjusted & my oop will be what I originally agreed to ($5.95 & $6.92).

    This is the email I received after I noticed the charges were more in my checking account:

    Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, the coupon that was used has since been discontinued due to it going viral. The sites that were promoting this discount are not affiliated with The Company Store. When it did go viral not all of the terms and conditions of the discount were included, and we will only be honoring the official discount that includes all of the terms and conditions. The promotion did not apply to past purchases, as payment on any credit card account, Charisma products, clearance, Company Kids merchandise, gift cards, custom shop, club memberships and could not be combined with any other offer. When your order downloaded into our system, it recognized the items that were clearance on your order and did not apply the promotion for the discount. Your credit card will be charged $20.94 , but we will credit your shipping costs of $5.95 so you will still receive a partial discount.

    Because your order has been packaged and processed by our warehouse we are unable to make any changes or cancellations to the order. When the package arrives you may refuse the package if you wish and it will come back to us with no postage due. If you are not home please return the the post office and write refused on the package. Do not open the package or the post office will require postage. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Isn’t this ILLEGAL? Can they really charge your credit card/bank card for an amount you did NOT agree on? I mean they have to legally go by what they sent out as a receipt don’t they!?

      Well I will definitely use the confirmation email I got that says $0 due as proof if they try to charge me!! And I will dispute it with my credit card company. but so far nothing has shown up on my credit card activity and it’s been shipped.

      I would certainly think that they cannot charge you more than what was originally authorized. I intend to fully dispute the charge if it is more than the original amount. If the discount was invalid, as they are stating in some CS emails, then they need to notify their customers and allow them the opportunity to cancel their orders before shipping them & charging them a different amount. In my opinion if the promotional discount was invalid on clearance items, then it should not have been allowed to work when the items were placed in the shopping cart. This reminds me of the fiasco with the dinosaur comforters from Seventh Avenue a few months ago. Wonder if these 2 companies are related?

    i ordered the swimsuit cover ups from the company kids site, they were 20 with free shipping so 0 after the code. both say shipped today..1, I know they can’t overcharge me for because I used a visa gift card with only a few dollars onit…the 2nd one i used my debit card, and I’m soooo hoping that it doesn’t create a problem.

    I just checked with my bank – no charges from The Company Store.
    I ordered the cover up for $20 and free shipping = zero.
    I have an order confirmation and a shipping notice that both say $0….and no charge on the card; so I think that’s a good thing?
    We’ll see if I actually get the item.

    I ordered several items (in different transactions); I spent over an hour on their slow website. But I did not buy any of the sale of the day, clearance, or sale items (which it appears this code excluded); I only bought items that were under $20 and had free shipping (kids clothes). So when everyone was receiving emails that their orders were canceled, and getting over-charged, I carefully watched my credit card and order status. Yesterday I received emails that all of my orders were shipped and complete. NO charge on my card! Yippee! It seems that because I didn’t buy things that this code was supposed to exclude, they let my orders stay. I’m getting SEVEN free items- all shirts and shorts for my kids. I can’t wait until they come in the mail!!

    4 of 5 orders are shipping. The only one that isn’t is the one that was out of stock. I had pending charges on my account and they dropped. I’m sure they will show back up on Monday. I am keeping a close eye on my account. I can’t wait to get my 3 backpacks an 1 shirt! Thanks Collin!

    I placed 3 orders, 2 of the 3 were shirts under $20 with free shipping and they are on their way and no charges. The other was a $26 shirt with free shipping and I was charged the $6 as I was supposed to and that is on its way as well. I guess I lucked out since none of them were on sale!

    So upset this morning to get the emailed stating my items were shipped with a completly different amount then originally agreed too. Called the CS, had to talk to a manager and after quite a conversation about how WRONG this is they finally agreed to the original price I agreed upon.

      I am watching my account too because the billed amount was different than the original amount for me too. I even requested to cancel my order and they would not do it. I have to ship the items back to them. HOGWASH!!

    I actually received my order today and I was never charged, just like my original invoice. I ordered an $18 toddler skirt and a $16 toddler t-shirt, both were free w/free shipping. I actually tried to cancel my order when everyone was posting about the incorrect charges and when I contacted them, they told me it was too late since the order was processing. However, it all worked out. My daughter is sporting a super cute outfit that we didn’t pay one dime for. Thanks again Collin!

    This is absolutely horrible, and I find it disgusting that many of you are so upset over not getting items for “free” at the expense of a small, new company. It’s one thing to get a good deal; it’s another to take advantage of an error. I hope some of you will reconsider your warpath responses, and take it as a lesson learned.       I agree that people are too quick to anger. If they had ever owned their own small business, they would understand that accidents happen and can’t always be corrected immediately. It’s great to get a good deal, but do we really want to put this company out of business by demanding all these free items? Sounds like they are doing their best to fulfill most of the free orders and adjust charges ~ HONORABLE. Put yourself in the business owners shoes. Someone worked hard to build this company in the midst of a tough economy. To be in a situation to lose it all in a day over a code that wasn’t intended for the public is a very sad thing.

    It actually has nothing to do with getting items for free, its about how they handled it. I authorized them to take out $5.95, not any more than that. It is illegal for a company to take out more that what you authorized. If there was a mistake a good company would contact you and ask you what you would like to do about the order since it was an error. They cannot just ship it out to you and change the amount that they charge you. It is completely unfair for them to make a ton of money on a mistake whether it be there fault or not.

    I received my order today. I went back and double checked my bank statement and I was never charged. I thought all orders were going to be canceled so this was a nice surprise! Yay for a free shirt for my 8 year old! The shirt I ordered was 19.99 with free shipping

    well I received 3 packages today… 2 free t-shirts 17.00 + free shipping .. never charged 🙂 Yay
    However the third package had 2 pairs of shorts , missing 2 t shirts and was charged 17.93 instead of the 7.91 I agreed to .. upon calling CS they offered to either refund the original shipping 5.95 or send a pre paid shipping label to return for a full refund , since the shorts are useless to me with out the matching shirts I am returning them for a refund…
    My advice would be to call for a pre paid shipping label before you return anything or you will be billed for shipping both ways!! HTH And super excited i was able to get the other 2 shirts with no problems or charges 🙂

    today i received my 2 free swimsuit coverups. i’m glad they were free, as they aren’t fabulous and I would have been upset if i paid 25 bucks for them. I’m still waiting to see if the 9.95 tote bags will get shipped at 9.95 or overcharged…so far so good!

    Same thing happened to me…I agreed upon a charge of $5.95 to my account and I was hit with a charge of $20.95.

    I submitted a complaint to the attorney general.

    Everyone needs to submit a complaint to the attorney general!!! Just do a search for the attorney generals office in your state & you can submit it online.

    To the PP who said everyone wanted something for free….don’t we all? That is beside the point. This may have been an error on the part of the company but they should have automatically canceled ALL of the orders instead of ILLEGALLY charging our accounts to an amount we didn’t agree upon and ILLEGALLY altering our sales receipts and filling the orders without first consenting us to do so. This is false & misleading business practice and it’s just WRONG! It’s called FRAUD. Period.

    Everyone who was defrauded (cause that’s what really happened here) needs to file complaints with the BBB & the Attorney General’s office.

    I think I was one of the very lucky few….I placed 5 orders in total. 2 swimsuit coverups for free, both shipped and recieved and not over charged. 3 tote bags monogrammed with each of my daughters names for 9.95 each and not over charged. phew….i’ve had anxiety waiting for 1.5 weeks lol good deals shouldn’t be so hard
