  1. mkw

i’m totally lost on how to get to that Starbucks’ coupon. . .

  2. Becky

The $1 off coupon is on the bottom left corner of the web page when you click on the link Collin gave us. You will need a copy of the ad to get the Walgreens coupon. HTH

    • Pru

The $1.00 off Starbucks coupon I have seen is only good when you buy a 4-pack. If the 4-pack costs $4.99, as I have seen it recently, then a $1.00 off coupon would bring the final price to $1.00 each, not $0.25. Twenty-five cents each for a Starbucks Frapachino is just too good to be true. Is there something I am missing here?

    • Pru

Okay, just clicked on the link provided for the Starbucks $1.00 coupon. Followed the steps and the coupon did print. It reads, “$1.00 OFF any size bottled Frappuccino coffee drink.” Now the dilemma is to find somewhere that sells them individually. I guess I’ll try a convenient store. I can’t wait to see the clerk’s face when I present the coupon. I’ll bet they’re not accustomed to taking coupons from their customers!!!

      • what's the deal

Have you noticed that this post is about Walgreens? They sell them individually – that’s why it’s in this deal list!

        • Pru

Thanks for that bit of wisdom. Didn’t comment on my next post, did ya.

          • what's the deal

Not sure what you mean – just wanted to point out that Walgreens sells them individually and since they are 1.25 each the coupon will make them .25 – YAY!

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

These starbucks drinks are sold individually at Walgreens in the cooler section on the wall.

    • Pru

Just reading my new Starbucks coupon mentioned above. At the top the expiration date says 12/31/2010. In the bottom righthand corner it says, “Coupon expires: 6/1/10.” There is also a note below the coupon that says, “Please note, this coupon is not redeemable at Starbudks stores. E-coupons are accepted at most major retailers, however, some stores implement a policy where e-coupons are not redeemable.” Good luck.

      • Mary S.

I think the big expiration date at the top of the coupon is what stores go by. Also, Walgreens has always accepted printable coupons before so I don’t think the note under the coupon will matter for this deal. There are some stores that don’t take printable coupons but in my experience that isn’t the case at Walgreens so this deal should work just fine! Yay cheap frappuccinos!

  3. Stephanie W

Also, coupons.com had a $1 off coupon of duracell batteries.

  4. nora

Collin, do you think you could combine the Gillette fusion razor with the body wash as part of the buy 25 get 10RR back deal and get the 5RR back also? Or because they both come from the same company they wouldn’t both print ,they are different amounts though.

  5. Angelia

For those who have a Safeway near by the May 2010 coupon book found by the soaps has a coupon for Neutrongena Products. It does not exclude the bar soap.

This is the deal I did today:
Buy 3 Neutrogena Skin or Sun Care participating products = $10 RR
Buy 3 Neutrogena Bar Soaps $2.69 each
Use 3 $1.50/1 from the Safeway May 2010 Coupon Book
    Pay $3.57
    Get Back a $10 RR
Final cost– 3 bars of soap for FREE + a $6.43 moneymaker!

    • Kristi

      Awesome!

  6. Angelia

    Catalina RR Advertisement:

Buy a Participating Olay Trio Kit Between 5/30/10 and 6/26/10
Save $10.00 with coupon off your next order.

  7. topchief2

I just checked and the frappachino coupon hasn’t reset for those who have used it before.

    • bonnie

      didn’t reset for me 🙂

  8. Janelle

Does anyone know what the best way is to hand over the B1G1 coupons plus $2/1 coupons for the gillette deal? I had issues similar to this before and I cannot remember which coupons to hand over first.

    • Gina

I always put the B1G1 coupon at the bottom and the additional coupon at the top. It is way easier to say when the B1G1 coupon beeps “But I bought two, see” than “well this coupon only applies to this item……..” And most times they don’t remember seeing the $2/1 coupon at the begining of the order, so they will usually push it through. HTH!

      • Janelle

Thank you so much…Happy shopping everyone 🙂

  9. Cecilia

do you think that if I use a RR from the gillette rasor towards the Gillette or Old Spice body wash deals will generate a new catalina? (since they will both be Gillette) Thanks!

  10. Cecilia

    I meant razor☺

  11. Mom's Thrifty Deals

There is a $1/1 any Bayer Aspirin or Heart Health Advantage Product 10 ct or larger coupon in a Bayer Health Care Coupon book I found at Walgreens, my Safeway had it also. More coupons to get free aspirin.

    Cecilia,
Since it is the same mnf. you can’t roll the catalina and get a new one to print.

    • Cecilia

      Thank you!

  12. Anabel

I can’t find my John Frieda coupon in my SS. what does it look like? or maybe I didn’t get one? I already looked in 2 different SS and I can’t find it!

    • Bridget

The Root Awakening (John Frieda) is green..with Harbor Frieght on the back. I bought my papers in Mundelien IL.

    • Ana Mata

Does anyone know if the John Frieda RR is for buying 3 or for buying $15? I get a military discount so I needed to know in order to get the RR. Thanks!

      • Angie

I didn’t know that Walgreens did a military discount.

        • carolyn

Yes, military discount 15% on Tuesdays only!

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Buying 3 John Friedas- but make sure you do NOT get the obttles that say 30& more or the RR will NOT print.

  13. Amy

Haven’t bought baby wipes in quite awhile. Pampers wipes .50 after coupon—-is this probably the best deal I’m gonna find or does it usually get even better than that??? Thanks, ladies!

    • Amber

My Kroger and HEB usually carries the tubes for $1.99 so I could score them for free!

      • Amy

        Just curious—what’s HEB? Thanks

        • Brit

It is a grocery store. I live in Southeast Texas and we have them everywhere. Not sure where else they are located though!

  14. victor

No PG insert in my newspapers today. Am I the only one? I’m in NY. I was really looking forward to that one.

  15. Elaine

Thanks for posting the Pampers wipes deal. I got a case for only $0.50 this morning. Thanks!

  16. Brianna

    Totally doing this. Thanks!

  17. Melinda

Is this deal going on this week as well (I knew it was last week)?

Buy 3 Neutrogena Skin or Sun Care participating products = $10 RR
Buy 3 Neutrogena Bar Soaps $2.99 each
    Pay $8.97
    Get Back a $10 RR
Final cost– 3 bars of soap for FREE + a $1.03 moneymaker!

    • bonnie

yes it’s a month long promo….I have heard next week the price will go down ( item will be on sale)

  18. michelle

Heads up to everyone, I bought the John Freida buy 15.00/ 5.00 RR. No RR they said the manufacturer put a limit with this deal if you use a coupon there will be no RR. It is not a walgreens restriction it comes from the manufacturer. Called corp. and catalina and all had the same response, they also said it works with some other products they do RR with. So to everyone just a heads up.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Interesting, thanks for the heads up!

    • Boonie

SAme thing here, the manager even helped me get the right products and still no RR”s so he gave me a John Freida RR form to fill out for those who couln’t get one through the register. I made a copy to keep w/my JF purchase in case they won’t send me my RR”s in the mail and I will take their product back! GRRRRR. It”s almost not worth shopping at Wags for their RR. It won’t work on products that have a 20% more on the bottles too!

    • Kristyn

I did the John Freida deal 3 times and it worked for me. At first it did not work because I get an employee discount so my total was under 15.00 dollars but once I added a 4th item I got the 5RR back and I used 4 2.50/1 coupons. It wont work on the 20 percent more items

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

FYI- John Frieda Shampoos/Conditioners….IF you buy the shampoos/conditioners that have “30% more” they will NOT generate the $5 RR. The manager just rerang 3 that didn’t have the extra 30% in the bottle & gave me the $5 RR & let me keep the bigger ones.

  19. Ryan

I just went to my WG’s to get newspapers and tried a few offers.

Oddly the Bengay $5/1 coupon didn’t work on the bottle of Bengay that was $4.99. Is that because it was $4.99? How does that work?

    • Brit

Yes the register will beep because of the penny overage. If they are know what they are doing and you get a great cashier they will either adjust the coupon down to 4.99 or they will push it thru.

      • Brit

****NO are in that second sentence! LOL

    • Christy Lynn P.

I just left walgreens and the cashier refused to adjust down my coupon for the bengay deal!!! I was furious…although i did score a starbucks frappacino for .25 and B1G1 Free Tampax with a 2.50/2 Coupon i scored in the free sample. What is their policy…does anyone know? Is it in writing somewhere?

      • TONYA

They refused to adjust down my coupon, too! It’s getting to where it’s just not worth it to go into Walgreens anymore!

  20. Brit

I am getting fed up with Wags shopping! They are getting way to picky with coupons. Everytime I go they look over every coupon and even hold the printed ones up in the air and look at them, who knows what they are looking for! Then they read the fine print on every one and if it says only one per purchase they will not let me use two coupons exactly the same. By the time they are thru giving my order and coupons the third degree there is a long line of angry people behind me. I would much rather go shop at CVS! They will take any coupon that scans and even if it beeps and it is legit they will push it thru no questions asked! I have heard that Walgreens is no longer accepting printed coupons too, anyone got the facts on that?!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I couldn’t agree more! I have tried at my 2 local Walgreens to use the following:
$1/1 Nivea lip care and BOGO Nivea Lip care. Now, at CVS or Publix, this would not be an issue. It’s viewed as the $1/1 Q goes w/ the one I am paying for and the BOGO is going with the free item. NOPE!!! Both stores told me that I would need to purchas 3 items to use the 2 coupons. I emailed corporate and they had the managers email me to tell me that I was wrong. They told me that they sent out a letter to all employees from corporate that they all had to sign, which stated they needed to crack down on the coupon usage!! So, that Gilette deal looks SOOOO awesome, but neither of my Wags would ever let me use all those Q’s. I’m sticking with CVS!

    • Sarah

I was told at one Walgreens that they weren’t accepting internet coupons any more. I emailed them complaining about this and got a call from a manager. He was from a different store and said that they were wrong to tell me that. He said that they do accept internet coupons. In his words, ‘they are the same as legal tender.’ I will definitely be going to his store from now on! However, I still prefer CVS because Walgreens’ RR are such a hassle.

  21. Mrs. B

neutrogena bars at our local walgreens (NC) were on sale for 2.69 each. they also had $1.00 off coupons at the cosmetics counter for each one 🙂

    • Lora

did you get the RR with the purchase of the 3 soaps???

  22. Angie

I got some deals at my Walgreens this morning. They were out of the Neutrogena bars though. I did the Old Spice deal but one of my B1G1 coupons didn’t come off and I asked about it. The manager said that sometimes if you use too many coupons the register rejects them! She pushed it through but was not happy about it!

    • Janelle

I had issues with the B1G1 coupons for the gillette deal but I was lucky that I had a really nice cashier at the cosmetic counter and she worked it from every angle for me. I won’t be doing that again though, too much for other cashiers and they don’t understand sometimes how couponing works, so the easiest thing for them to do is reject it.

      • Angie

I did the deal again tonight with the B1G1 for the Gillette body washes and had no issue. The 3rd coupon beeped again but had a nice young male cashier and he just put it in manually. I did two tranactions and ended up getting the second one for .71 cents! I got 2 bottles of Dawn, three boxes of Kleenex, 3 rolls of paper towels, a bag of ice. The lady behind me said, ‘how do you do that? That’s amazing!’ I referred her to Hip2Save, I definitely couldn’t do it alone!!

  23. Michal David

Does anyone knows if the Gillette razor RR is rolling, i read it somewhere but can’t find it now
    TIA

    • Michal David

Well i got my answer from Wild for Wags….so just an FYI that the Fusion is rolling 🙂

  24. dave

walgreen’s is getting pretty bad with printed coupons, or coupons over the value of the sale item, even with a filler. very hit or miss ; lucky in chicago there’s a walgreen on every block so can just go to the next one…but we are trying not to use printed coupons there any longer.. just too much of a hassle.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I am soooo lucky, both of the girls that work at the cosmetics counter at my Walgreens are fellow Hip2Save members, and they bend over backwards to make all of my coupons work! Makes life so much easier.

  25. Ryan

It’s not like they’re not getting their money back from the manufacture…It’s ridiculous. I’m so glad a CVS is opening in our town soon.

  26. Erin B

Ok… I am a newbie to Walgreens and I messed up my plan earlier and I hope some of you can help me fix it! I went in and got the 3 Gilette Deos and 3 Body Washes, to get the $10RR. Well, I decided to do the Old Spice deal too (4 Body Wash, 2 Deos) as well as get the Fusion razor. I had a brain fart (and didn’t realize it until I got home) and forgot that I couldn’t use the $10RR from Gilette on the Old Spice deal, so I didn’t get the 2nd $10RR. So, now I have Old Spice products that weren’t a very good deal, and I’m bummed. Does Walgreens accept returns? Would I have to forefit my coupons if I return it? Could I return everything and start over (would they still give me the credit for those coupons?) and do the Gillette deal, get the $10RR, then use that reward to buy the razor (and something else for $4), and then do the Old Spice deal so then I’d have $20RR left? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help!!

    • B

They do take returns, if you arent doing it the same day, or if they already switched the drawers, you most likely won’t get your coupons back, but you will get full price for the products back. Say for example an item was $4.99 and you used a $2 off coupon, you would get the whole $4.99 back. Hope this helps.

      • Sunflower

Curious about getting full price for a returned item that has a coupon. If I return, they often give me the price minus the coupon. However, now that I think about it, they get the money either way so I should get it back even though it wasn’t a true OOP expense. Do you follow? Any thoughts? Anything official out there to back it up??

        Thanks Hip2Savers!!

    • Kim

I messed up once and used the wrong RR on an item and therefore didn’t get another RR back. I tried to return the item, it was immediatley, and they wouldn’t let me return it without surrendering the RR, which I didn’t get. Good Luck though! Let us know!

  27. Elyse

So… does anyone know if the RRs are printing on the Neutrogena products after coupons? I am hesitant to try it if that is not the case…

    • B

yes, its still printing if you use coupons!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yes, I did this deal more than once and printed every single time.

  28. Ryan

I went in to a different WG’s this morning. Got a nice young girl at the makeup counter. Scored 6 Old Spice Body Wash for .57 apiece and 2 boxes of cereal for $1.00 each.

I might attempt to take my washes and deo coupons out to a different WG. That would sustain me on body wash for a year!

  29. Stephanie Werner

I didn’t realize until I actually got into the store that the Tylenol coupon is $3/2, not 1, as stated above 🙁

  30. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I’m going back on my resolve to stop shopping at WAGS. I went on Sat and got all of the rr’s and they printed perfectly. Not only that but I used a 1 cpn for the U Kotex and rec’d the free always like posted. In addition to that a $1 cpn for Starbucks ice cream, floss, and playtex tampons printed too. Yeh!! I then did a separate transaction and bought the hershey and the Nivea body wash. Unfortunately they only had one mens body wash, so I had to buy a shave cream to get one free and then use the $3 cpn. That meant the cheapest one was free and I ended up paying $1.25 for each.. Oh well . I was able to pay with a $5 rr from the nabisco deal last week. The bad news was they wouldn’t take my internet cpn for the lifesavers that were bygo. Even after I went back and got the exact ones on the front of the cpn, the cashier wouldn’t take it. This is the same cashier who gave me a hard time the week before, and insists on calling me cpn lady. How annoying. Anyway, the hershey rr came out so I only payed $2.32 out of pocket after rr’s and got the great cpn for Always to boot. My faith in WAGS has been restored.

  31. Megan R

I HATE walgreens shopping!! They are terrible about coupons! I’m so frustrated every time I go in there for something…the Bengay deal didn’t work. THe manager insisted that they would be loosing money and that she couldn’t accept the $5/1 coupon since the item was only $4.99! GRRRRRRR!

  32. Katie C.

I just had a POSITIVE Walgreens experience! Last week the manager wouldn’t adjust the price on the $0.99 toothbrush to let me use my $1.00 off coupon, so I called the customer service number. The manager from my store just called me back and told me that the other manager was wrong and that they will adjust the price to let me use the coupons! He said the other manager must not have known. And he said that different Walgreens may treat this differently. He also said that he was a coupon shopper himself! So now I know who to ask for if I ever have a coupon problem again!

    • Lori

katie I had the same exact experience I was wondering if *I* wrote that comment execpt mine was about the Reach dental floss.

  33. nicoleinseattle

I had a positive experience today too FINALLY! I guess enough people we’re complaining about the confusion regarding what happens if a coupon value is more than the price of an item on sale. They accepted my coupons for Reach toothbrushes and the BENGAY with no problem. The register still beeped but the assistant manager just adjusted the coupon amount to match the price of the item.

I got this response from corporate when I asked about coupon policy:

    Dear Nicole,

Thank you for taking your time to contact our Corporate Offices. We appreciate hearing from our customers and value all comments received.

Unfortunately, we do not have a coupon policy, rather “guidelines” we follow.

*1 Walgreen and 1 manufacturer coupon can be used for the same item, unless either coupon prohibits; *Walgreens does not provide cash back if a coupon is presented for more than one purchase value of the item
    (i.e. the customer is using the coupon to purchase a clearance item);

    *If the retail of the item is less than the face value of the coupon;
    *The coupon value shall be the retail value if the state requires taxes to be paid on that item;
    *The coupon value shall be the retail value plus taxes if the state does not require taxes to be paid on the item; *All valid coupons must be presented to the cashier at the time of sale only;

    *Managers have the right to limit the quantities of all advertised items (also disclosed on the back of the ad circular); *Walgreens does not price match with other retailers;
    * Walgreens does not accept competitor coupons;
    *Walgreens does not accept expired coupons;
*If an item is purchased with a manufacturer coupon is returned, the customer will get the retail price of the item. If the customer purchased an item with a Walgreens coupon, the customer receives the price paid.

Again, thank you for contacting our corporate office. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your comments.

It basically says right there that they can adjust coupons to match the price of the item, if the coupon value is more than the price of the item. The managers and store clerks should have a copy of this in their posession. They might be confused by the guidelines though, so be patient in explaining it to them.

If you have issues, just go to another Walgreens. Sometimes it’s not worth the hassle to deal with someone who doesn’t understand their own corporate guidelines regarding coupons.

PS. I found $1 off peelies on Reach toothbrushes at both RiteAid and Walgreens. Which means more free (99 cent) Reach toothbrushes! YAY!

  34. Lisa

I got FREE Van Camps beans yesterday. There was .50 off ANY Van Camp’s Beans, so after the Wags Q, I paid .12 for 3 cans. The coupon expires 6-30-10, but not sure which insert it was in.

  35. Collin (Mrs.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Went to WAGS yesterday. This week is a good week to use the free always cpns from last weeks deal with the u by Kotex. This week they are bygo 50% off. One was free, with the free always cpn, the other was $2.19 and then I used a $1 cpn to make two essentially $1.19. Great deal, to top it off I then rec’d a $3 cpn for cover girl. Not bad. Wish it was always this great at WAGS.

  36. Bama Leone

I did the Gillette deal and I received the 10.00 RR. If I go back and get the Old spice deal does anyone know if I can use the RR?

  37. Mandy

The 2 Walgreens I went to today didn’t have the RR sign posted next to the bar soap. Does it mean the soap doesn’t qualify for RR at those Walgreens? Thanks!

  38. Lori

My June All You magazine does not have the VanCamps pork and beens coupon, weird.

  39. Carrie

Good experience this morning- Got Finest Natural cranberry pills (priced 7.99 each) that were BOGO, then there is a store coupon from the June coupon book that was $2 off. Took $4 off total with coupon, so two bottles for 3.99. Then, had some coupons ($8 & $3) for CoverGirl that had printed from the Catalina on previous visits. With the BOGO 1/2 off I got blush for 3.99 (11.99 reg) and made . 36 on the mascara (reg 5.29).

  40. Joelle

I went out to Walgreens to see if I could get the Neutrogina soap (only 1 on the shelf). And Tylenol. The $3 off Man. Q expires today, but it was $3 off 2, not $3 off 1. So it wasn’t worth it and I left with nothing.
