New Update: Sorry, guys! It appears the Oreo cookies on sale 3/$5 are actually for the smaller 11-12 oz packages, so this deal is not as great as I though it was! 🙁 Darn!

ummm… not that I need these in my household, but I thought I’d mention that Dollar General has Oreo, Golden Oreo AND Double Stuf Oreo (My fav– Yummy!) on sale 3/$5– which is already a great price since they usually go on sale 2/$5. Plus, you can use the $1/2 Nabisco cookies or crackers coupon from the 8/8 SS to score an even sweeter deal. Your final cost after the coupon– ONLY $1.17 per package!

Just wanted to let you know that these bags of Oreo’s are not a full size bag like normal. They are smaller, thats why a cheaper price. Also although the corporate policy states Internet coupons my store will still not accept them and says its a managers decsion not a corporate decision.

my store told me they would not accept internet printable coupons but I pointed out the HUGE banner that covered their front window that stated we accept internet printable coupons — they took mine — of course I don’t know if the banner is still there

Thanks for the info about the smaller packaging, Ashley. I have updated the post.

You can print IP coupons from DG’s website so they DO accept internet coupons.

If I have a coupon for $3 off purina dogfood and it says manufacturers coupon at the top but in the middle it says For Use At PetSmart, would I be able 2 use it at Dollar Gen? Thanks 4 any replies.

They have flyers at the front of the store with ads that have a coupon for buy an oreo and a 2 liter coke and get $1.50 off. The coke is $1.00 so only less than $1.20 for both. But be aware they only take onelike on their coupons per order!

    Post-It Flags single packs $1

This absolutely will not work around here…they argue that they don’t take free coupons…even though I point out that this $1off coupon, they insist it is free, so they won’t take it. UGH! Dollar General is SO frustrating. Calls to corporate get you an automated system and never to real person. Collin – could you make calling DG corporate a video like you did for Walgreens?

My Dollar General will not take ‘free internet coupons’ either. They don’t even like printed coupons period, but they will take them as long as you are still paying something for the item.

  6. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

mine wont take any coupon that gives u the item free which is stupid bc they make 8cents more from us them some1 who pays the 1 in cash o well ill just get them else where

  7. Anna in NC

I tried to buy the Post It flags last week and they would not take the $1/1 coupon. The Mgr/Sup? said they can’ take a coupon that makes an item free or even close to free!?!

  8. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Now the paper towels arnt really FREE if you have to pay a penny for them are they;) lol

  9. Lisa

I called Dollar General Corporate office recently and I talked to several people in customer service and Dollar General DOES accept coupons that make an item FREE if the item is free after the coupon is applied (meanng like if it is on sale and you have a coupon that makes it free after the coupon is applied)but they DO NOT accept internet printed coupons that is for a FREE item (there are to many fraudulent ones like that going around). I also received a call from my local regional Dollar General manager and he also confirmed this. He stated that Dollar General is in the process of training each store to understand the new coupon policy so I encourage any of you who are having problems at your local store to get the number for that stores regional manager. I am also going to call Dollar General back to see if I can get something in writing from them as they have been very nice and helpful so far.

    Thrifty is Nifty

I tried to buy the flags the other day and the coupon beeped “item not found.” The clerk wouldn’t push the coupon through because the picture shows multiple flags and not the single flag that is at Dollar General. So just be aware that they may not let you get them.

    • Mrs. B

      same here.

      • anonymous

        same for me too

The Aqua Mist was not on sale at my store. But she did push my post-it q through without any questions.
