      No, it’s not. You can use regular old filters and coffee. I actually have had my Gevalia coffee maker for over a year and absolutely Love it! There coffee is great too!

    If you forget to cancel before they send you more coffee, they’re very nice about only charging you for the shipping on the second shipment as well (Thanks Gevalia).

      I was going to say that, too! Their coffee is so delicious, I kept getting it. I think I’ve been receiving shipments for a year and a half now. I put their coffee in my Keurig brewer, because I love Gevalia’s coffee much better than any of the k cups I’ve tried.

    Gevalia was a big pain to deal with when trying to cancel the program after the trial and free gifts.

      Same goes for me, big pain to cancel. I called right away when I realized I was enrolled in the automatic delivery program, they said my membership was cancelled. I also unsubscribed to the million emails I was getting from Gevalia. Unfortunately they kept emailing me and sent me coffee despite my multiple attempts at cancelling the whole thing. Ultimately I got to keep the coffee they sent and they reversed the charge on my credit card, but it was a big pain and it seemed like that was on purpose to keep you in the program,

    yeah same with my mother in law. They were a complete mess to deal with and cancel her order. It took her like 4 months all while being charged each month for the darn coffees….

      I went ahead and ordered in spite of the comments because if you create an online account, you can cancel online. Yay! No talking to annoying customer service reps!

      I did this last time it was offered with the three boxes of tea for $3. It is great tea, generous size cans, but I too, called and cancelled my membership right away. I didn’t unsubscribe to the email at that time, however. Am I glad I haven’t- after a while I received an email saying the next tea shipment was about to be shipped. I called again right away and again cancelled. I asked if they didn’t have a record of my previous cancellation and they had some junky excuse. This time I have a written record of whom I talked to and am waiting to see if the membership has really been unhooked.Just be diligent about watching your email for the warning that another shipment is about to be sent.

      i cancelled online and i have not had hay problems so far. i should have gotten a shipment on 8/7 and no bill or any shipment.

        I cancelled using their Online Live Chat. They were persistent but eventually they cancelled my membership.. Then they sent me an email copy of our chat. No problems for me, but nice to know I have a copy of the chat.

    I wondered about this…but ordered anyway. I figured $3 is a great anniversary gift for the in-laws. I’ll cancel the second it gets here. I’ll call and call again and try online first.

    You guys should check with your credit card companies to see if you can get a virtual credit card number (fake number). If I’m correct, the number can only be used that one day, so they won’t be able to charge your account again. I cancelled my card that had the virtual number…I wish my other card had this. I don’t order on line because I don’t want to give my CC #.

    I did this last time and received a shipment after the initial deal. The next time I got an email I replyed stating “You are no longer authorized to bill to my credit card” No more shipments.
