I went yesterday. They have signs for buy any two Revlon products and get $7 ECB back. I bought two clearance nail polishes and I did NOT get the $7. The manager was extremely unhelpful and and unapologetic. There is nowhere on the little signs that says it excludes clearance items.
Should the ECB be given even on clearance items?

    • Laura

This same thing happened to me! My husband actually works at CVS and I asked him and he said the system wont print ECB’s if the item is on clearance! I think the signs should at least mention that!

      • Racquel

Last week my CVS had the Tone body wash on clearance for $2.74 and when I bouth it the EB still generated. So I think it’s sometimes.

        • Jennifer S

My store had is on clearance too. It didn’t print but the manager made it print for me.

        • ashley

This work for a lot of people but not me. :/

    • ashley

I was told last week clearance will never produce ECB. However thats not always the case.

    • L. Whitt

My CVS happened to put up a hand-made sign that said the ad deal did not apply to clearance items. I guess some stores aren’t making that clear!

      • Bree

Oh I had it out with the lady at the register. She was extremely RUDE. She threw my receipt on the counter, wrote on it :Given $7.00 ECB, do not refund.” I told her it wasn’t my fault that the coupons were smarter than her. I am furious, she said I was completely wrong, I told her that it wasn’t her $7 that I was asking for. Some people are so rude.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

The black sign the Collin has pictured has some fine print at the bottom which states that the reduced items are not included in any other offer. So buying two of those items does not entitle you to the the $7 ECB. I read the sign carefully at the store today.

    • Gwynn

I went this mornig to my CVS. Purchased two Revlon Cosmetics on 75% off clearence, and $7.00 ECB did not print. I told the associate, (which I think is the Manager) and he manually entered it and my $7.00 ECB printed. I have a GREAT CVS.

  2. Barbie

If you visit CVS this week and find the 75% off sale, buy 2 Revlon items and you get a $7 ECB–I made money this week off this deal! Now if only there were Revlon coupons available…
I did have problems with by ECB printing so make sure you get it if you purchase these items…my cashier was nice enough to manually print one.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

My cashier manually printed one as well. She was very nice.

  3. emilytwinmom

I too bought clearance revlon and received $7 ECB, no questions asked! I think it depends on your store unfortunately, there were a number of comments about that in the CVS ad on another coupon site I use.

  4. Grace L.

My sister and I went to town with the L’oreal coupons! We got a ton of make up for less than 1% of the normal price! 🙂

  5. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

They will not honor ECB on clearance items at my CVS in Tx but still a good deal

  6. jessica

i bought some last night to to almost free but also did not get the 7.00 ECB win some lose some

  7. Amber B

Does CVS take expired ECBs?? I have one that expired 12/20/10… I have used one before and they didn’t mind.. but wasn’t sure if that is their policy or not?

    • Jennifer S

I have heard they will honor them up to 30 days past exp date. Worth trying to use.

      • Betsy

I was just speaking to a cashier at my local CVS. She said they take expired ECB up to a year after. She also said it depends on the manager at each individual store.

        • Jennifer S

          Wow that is awesome!!!!

          • Kate

OMG I wish I would have known that…there are some I have thrown away not a lot but I am always sad when I have to! AHHHHH…well I know now! Thank you so much! 🙂

            • Melissa

Be sure to check your store.. mine wont!

  8. Rachel

I had a very rude and unhelpful manager who literally yelled at me because I questioned why I did not get my ECB for the clearance items. I told her that the sign stated ANY Revlon. It did not say excluding clearance. I was very upset. I told her that I wanted to see the coupon policy that states that ECB will not be earned for clearance items. She told me that I was “pissing” her off, and she wanted me to leave the store. I did not nothing wrong. I didn’t raise my voice or anything. I kindly asked for a refund since I wasn’t getting my ECB. She refused, so I left and emailed Corporate. I am still waiting for a response. I returned later in the day to return the items. That is def. the last time I will ever shop at CVS again!

    • elizabeth

you should definately stay on top of it, she needs to learn about customer service!! ppl like her is what made me a lil hesitant to start couponing, but at the end of the day im the one saving.

    • Shawna

The unprofessionalism of this manager was ridiculous. I hope corporate gets her straight!

    • Niki

i tried to return clearance item and it was denied. But the cashier was pretty nicely told me that Clearance items can’t be return/exchange. Lesson learned. Let me know if you hear from corporate regarding returning clearance item.

      • Rachel

I went back later in the day, and another cashier let me return them.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

but they also have the beauty 30 day return promise and it does not state that it excludes clearance or reduced price merchandise it states any if you are not happy.

    • Bree

Rachel, my situation was almost the same! I emailed corporate also. They were SO rude.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Because of their customer service I stoped going to cvs unless something really great. I don’t like cvs.

    • Lisa

I had this too! I returned it all…and since I used 2, $2 off L’oreal coupons, they gave me a $4 CVS giftcard…without me asking. I still think they should honor the ECB, but oh well.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I had a bad day with CVS yesterday too. 🙁 I tried to do the WISK deal. I already spend $20 worth toward this deal on earlier of this week and my receipt said I need spent $5 more to earn this reward. So I bought one more WISK. ECB didn’t printed out. The cashier said I have to buy $25 or more on one transaction to get this deal.( Really???) I told her if that’s the case, I would like to return all the items so she can ring them up together for ECB. She said she cannot do that and told me to call the custmer service. I left the store then I went back again because I wanted to ask one more question, but first thing came out from her mouth was “AUGH! SHE IS BACK! “. Wow, how rude!! without the ECB this deal is not that great .Plus I was treated like a pest and feeling bad all day …not worth it.
I called custmer service and the rep said he will call me back in next 48 hours .

I would like to say Thank you to Niki and Karen B for the reply on my comment yesterday.
I feel much better because of your kindness 🙂

        • Ana

thats crazy, you can return anything you want! she should have just done it. i will say that i’ve had a much easier time calling in to care, or even emailing them, they are always helpful.

  9. RHJ30297

I have yet to make it over to CVS yet, I hope they have Nuetrogena items on the clearance!

    • Mary

They had a few Neutrogena items on clearance when I went, mainly the makeup remover and a few other items. If I remember correctly, they were 50% off at my store (yellow stickers).

Also, I went and did not receive a $7 ecb for the Revlon deal…called CS in store and they said the same thing. The mgr. wouldn’t force them for me either 🙁

  10. Morganne

I went to Walgreens yesterday, and used my $5/2 L’oreal Coupon…on two eyelingers (marked on clearance for $3.12, from $12.99). The coupon beeped, and I got that sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach, I hate arguing with them about coupons, the girl looked at it….read it out loud…the proceeded to put it in manually! Yay! I got both the eyeliners for $1.50. Yays!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      – ” sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach ” –
I get that too when i hear the Beep…

      • Jennifer S

Me too! That’s when you hold your breath in hopes they take it.

    • Abby

Me, too…especially when my 4 kids are along. I try to buck up and remind myself that I am teaching them to be fiscally responsible.

    • Camara

Yes it beeped for me too at Walgreens, but after she read it she manually put through both of mine. I went to town yesterday. Bought 4 L’oreal naturale lip glosses and 2 Covergirl lipsticks for $0.24 with tax after coupons and saved $51.70 then I went to another and bought 3 L’oreal mascaras and 2 Maybelline lipsticks for $2.60 with tax I can’t remember how much I saved. Walgreens is now on my good side and their customer service has improved. CVS they are rude, I only shop if the deal is unbeatable. I have 2 Rite Aids, 3 Walgreens and (2) 24 hr CVS’s within a 8 minute drive of my house so I know what I’m talking about LOL

      • connie

I tried to use the free Excedrin coupons that came out recently at my local Walgreens. Store manager told me he wouldn’t take them because they weren’t on “shiny paper” There was a security code on the back but he insisted that I could have printed them on my computer. I was furious and I insisted even harder that he wasn’t following Walgreens coupon policy. I finally got my way and even though the cashier was snotty about it I had another customer congratulate me for standing up to them. My mistake was going to the Wags near work instead of my usual one near my house. Never have a problem at the home store. I’m not going to stop shopping at Walgreens but I will never EVER go to that particular store again.

  11. Mitch

And make sure the clerk scans you into the new extra care beauty club, there are even more deals to be had that way. I did it so I can get an extra bucks for my birthday.
    http://www.gaynycdad.com

    • Jennifer S

If you already signed up for it you should have an extra 10% coupon to help this deal! Sweet!

      • ashley

        doesn’t apply to sale items

        • Jennifer S

Ugh that figures! I didn’t read it just printed it. Thanks!

  12. Pauline

My CVS has alot of the Physicians Formula for 75% off too. If you can find the $5 or $2 peelies that are on alot of them it’ll be free!

    • laura

No peelies on mine but I racked up anyway!

  13. lynne

My CVS mostly had 50% off and no cover girl on sale at all. I did find two L’Oreal Feel Naturale Powder Blush which I used with the $5/2. Originally $12.99 each and I walked out paying on 75 cents. Our family has set a $10 limit on gifts and I have three older teen nieces so I make a game of how much I can get for $10. These will go in the box for them.

The other thing I want to mention at CVS:
I had three of the Free Excedrin coupons. You can get only a package of 24 for the price allowed on the coupon. They are offering $10 Extrabucks when you purchase $20 of Excedrin products.
Got two Excedrin Extra Strength 100 tablets at $8.99 each and one Migrane 100 at $9.79. Used the three free $5.99 x 3 and paid the diff and got $10 Extrabucks.

So I got four times as many tablets as I would have if I had just used the free coupon as is.

    • Amanda

I was wondering about whether they would allow me to pay the difference….Target actually sells their 50 count for 5.99 so I was unsure if I wanted to use them for the ECB deal at CVS or get double the pills at Target….Good to know I can pay the difference.

    • Kristen Anne

Darn that was a better idea than what I did- used them on the smaller ones that were closer to 5.99, but luckily the cashier did take off the whole value amount of each coupon n I did get the 10 ECB.

And Collin it is sooo true what you say about profiling the young male cashiers haha I went to one tonight and he asked me about my coupon binder and said wow that is cool and then was so helpful! It is a nice change! Just last night I was at Target and the cashier was SO rude and she told me usually they don’t accept internet printables but she was letting me slide and then refused to use my $2 off Wholly products because it was an internet printable that didn’t scan, even though that is not the policy at all~

OH well you win some, you lose some! Thanks for all of your match-ups and deals! 🙂

    • Christian

You do realize that the Excedrin Migraine is the exact same product as the Extra Strength? If you go on Excedrin’s website the ingredients are identical….your paying money for a placebo effect. Just some fyi.

  14. Kathy

Does anyone know what CVS’s corporate policy is about competitor’s coupons? I’d like to buy Cottonelle next week, but can only find a Target coupon (there is a bricks coupon, but I’ve already printed it). Can I use it? Might it depend on the store?

  15. Jennifer Tang

I was going to buy three of the Revlon clearance nail polishes but the cashier said that the clearance items won’t get the $7 ECB so I just bought one nail polish. It’s still a great price for nail polish.

  16. Summer

Just got back from CVS, I hadn’t even read this post, but was looking for clearance makeup anyway. I got 4 Loreal eyeshadows (2 colors in each), originally $9.25, on clerance for $2.25, and used my $2 off Loreal eyemakeup coupons = final cost .25 each!!! Spent $1 on $36 worth of products! I’m happy! Also, I tried a new location to see if the cashiers were any nicer, and I found the most awesome employee ever!!! It was a good day!

  17. Jennifer

I just got back from CVS too, I spent $5.98 and got 7 lip sticks that were marked down to $2.82 (orig price was $11.29) 2 nail polishes for $1.25 each (orig price was $4.99) and 2 lip glosses for $3.49 each (orig price $13.99 way expensive for fancy lip gloss!!) used 5 of the $5/2 Q’s… yay! score!! 🙂

  18. laura

no coupons on my 1/2 RP 🙁

    • Amy B

With the exception of the Covergirl ones in the P&G insert, Dayton, OH has received none of the makeup coupons! We normally don’t get haircolor ones either – BOO!

      • rockncouponistas

I feel ya! I too live in Dayton and I see all these deals on make-up and haircolor but cant participate because we don’t get those coupons! poo!

  19. Bree

I just got off the phone with CVS Corporate about the Revlon Deal. You ARE ALLOWED to receive ECB on Clearance items. She told me no at first, I then asked for literature regarding the policy and she came back a few minutes later saying that Clearance items are eligible for ECB. I documented a complaint for the store I went to because it was ridiculous.

    • Kristi W.

Great job Bree and thank you for the information. I will go get these great deals tomorrow & ensure I get my ECB. Appreciate your hard work and sharing it with us all 🙂

    • Niki

WOW. I need to email them ask for my ECB on stuff I already bought and didn’t get it.

    • kidsallgone

I wonder if they could send that info in an email.
I think I’ll ask and then come back here to let y’all know the reply.
      Crossing fingers……

  20. Tiffany

With any clearanced deal ecb’s may or may not print. I feel lucky when they do, but don’t expect them to.

  21. CJ

No Revlon items on clearance at my CVS and no $2.99 clippers left so I skipped this deal. The cashier didnt want to allow me to use 4 free Excedrin coupons together but finally gave in and I got the $10 ECB for that 🙂

  22. JessicaB

I was at CVS Sunday and they had sally hanson nail polish 75% plus they had a sticky coupon for a $1 off a SH lip product. They had those 75% off as well so I got a free one. I did not see anything else marked, but i will have to go back tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up:)

  23. Andrea Sears Garr

Just scored some Loreal eyeshadow for $0.25. Sweet deal made even better when the coupon thing printed out $1.00 off M&M’s so I got 2 bags free 🙂

  24. Karen

Register your reward card for the beauty club and receive a 10% off coupon by e-mail. Registry in the club get you a $5 ECB for every $50 spent and $3 ECB on your birthday! Every little bit helps even on these great clearance items.

  25. brandierivera23

I went into CVS and was oh so excited, scanned my card-I had 3.50 extra care bucks waiting on me, I also found a bunch of good deals. After looking around, I went to check out and realized someone stole my wallet 🙁 Not a good CVS trip this time.

    • kidsallgone

      OMG!!!
      I’m so sorry!
      Did you ever find it?
PS….my CVS was robbed last month at 4pm!!!
The Chinese restaurant in the same strip was hit twice the month before!!
And just last night, the Dollar General store down the street from them was hit at closing time!!!
      YIKESSSSSSSSSSSssssssssssss!!!

      • brandierivera23

Nope, it wasn’t found. I called and filed a police report when I got home, CVS told me to call back this morning and they would have the GM check the tapes. It’s just a bummer thinking of how cruel and heartless people can be. I keep telling myself the reason the person took it is because they needed food for their children…BUMMER

        • Niki

0 tolerance for them even if they need food. There are places that they can go and ask for help like church or other government program. Urgg…..I so hate it.
          Sorry to hear. Cheer up….

  26. laura

Just a heads up, my CVS had PINK 75% off stickers instead of red, so they were harder to spot. Fortunately, my 6 year old knows how to read “75% off” (LOL) and spotted it for me.

  27. dannonb94

I stopped by today to check out the deals — found 2 L’Oreal HIP liquid eye liners (reg 13.99 ea) 75% off, plus I had 2 $2/1 coupons … I paid $1.37 for each one, so I saved $12.62 on each one, or $25.24 total!! 🙂 Good trip. I was going to use the 10% off coupon for the beauty club, but it does not apply to sale items.

  28. Stacey

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!
    My trip yesterday…
5 Loreal eye shadow duos (75% off)- 2.12 each
1 bottle of Loreal Tru match foundation (75% off) – 2.69
2 packs Revlon nail shapers – $2.99 each

Used 3 Loreal $5 off 2 coupons (adjusted down to reflect actual prices)
    Paid $6.34 (including taxes)
Got back $7 extra care bucks!!

  29. mipalady23

    Wiped out shelves! 🙁

  30. Eileen

Had some good fines but i couldnt use my manufaure coupons because the cashier rudely said she will not take those coupons for clearence items.

  31. Rhonda

I just got back from CVS. Went to use my buy one get one free diet Coke coupon and score on some clearance make-up and was excited to see coupons on the side of my coke for $1 off when you buy a Coke and any Loreal product!

  32. Cindy

I went to my CVS hoping to score some cheapola make-up deals but NOTHING was marked. Has anyone found the sale in the Alpharetta, GA area?
